[edit] Shree Aniruddha Bapu – A practical blend of spirituality and science
[edit] Early LifeAniruddha Joshi was born in 1956. He completed his studies from a school in Parel, and later followed his father’s footsteps, by opting for medicine. He was a brilliant student and a gold medallist He gained his MD, specialising in rheumatology. Dr Keshav Narsikar, who studied with Dr Joshi in Ruia College and later in Nair Medical College from 1972 till 1979 exclaimed, “He was exceptionally brilliant and could cite from any textbook, even giving cross-references off hand. This is not possible even for an above-average student”. Dr Narsikar pointed out, “He was interested in dramatics and was famous for his excellent oratory and mimicry. Always cordial, he would go out of his way to help others. His entire outlook, even as a student, was very different”. [edit] A Family manA married man with two children, Dr. Joshi led a normal life, until around 1981, when he started studying ayurveda from Vaidya Antarkar. He experienced a radical shift in his thinking. He began to realise the superiority of the system of Indian medicine over allopathy. It also made him mull over what had gone wrong with the system. Why had ayurveda stopped progressing? Looking for answers, he had an insight into the role of spirituality in society. Social progress, he realized, was hindered as spiritual values ceased to be important. [edit] ProfessionA lecturer in Nair Hospital till 1985, Dr. Joshi later started his private practice in Dadar and Parel, which he continued till 1998. [edit] The TransitionThe transition from Dr Aniruddha Joshi to Aniruddha Bapu has an interesting story behind it. Before taking samadhi in 1918, the Sai Baba of Shirdi had given three of his personal belongings to Govind Raghunath Dabholkar (also known as Hemadpant), a close devotee of his, assuring him that he would return one day to claim these articles back. The articles, a shaligram (holy stone used in puja), a small trishul and a rosary passed on to Hemadpant’s son Gajanan Govind Dabholkar, who in his last days gave them to his son Govind Gajanan Dabholkar also known as Appa Dabholkar. This fact was, however, a closely guarded secret, known only to the family. Sai Niwas, the ancestral home of the Dabholkars in Bandra, has always been associated with Sai Baba. The Sai puja, held here daily since 1911, draws hordes of devotees. Dr Joshi, himself a Sai bhakt, thus came first to Sai Niwas in 1993. Known then to the Dabholkars as an eminent doctor, he immediately made an impression on them by his modesty, his simple and joyful ways and his profound, yet lucid explanation of religious scriptures. On May 27, 1996, Dr Joshi went to Sai Niwas, and asked for the articles belonging to Sai Baba. “We were stunned. We bowed in reverence as we saw him manifest in the form of Shirdi Sai Baba,” recalls Dabholkar, whose wife and children were also present to witness the event. However, they were asked to keep this encounter to themselves, till Bapu gave them permission to talk about it in 1998. “This was not the first occasion on which Bapu declared his divinity. It had been predicted to his great-grandfather that Lord Vitthala would take birth in his home and thus his family was always aware of his divine status,” maintains Dabholkar. As word spread, believers started flocking around Aniruddha Bapu or Sadguru, as he came to be known. Today, lakhs of devotees in and outside Maharashtra and even abroad consider him to be the avatar of Mahavishnu. Nandamata, Bapu’s wife, is also worshipped as Laksmi Avatar. A former student of his, Dr Suchit Dada, is worshipped as Sheshnag avatar. Dr Dada’s clinic draws many patients seeking a cure and Bapu is supposed to work his miracles through him. For various devotees from all walks of life, Aniruddha Bapu has proved to be a turning point in life. “It is as if a miracle has taken place in my life,” says Sandhyaveera Jaiker, who is actively involved with the movement. “I have been attending the pravachans (discourses) and taking an active part in the various socio-cultural activities. I have been exposed to a world beyond the four walls of my house. My life has taken such a turn for the better,” she exclaims. For the Dabholkars, their devotion to Sai Baba had borne fruit. The Sadguru had once again entered the lives of the family in human form. “He is full of prem (love) and karuna (compassion) and forgives easily. He teaches that though men make mistakes, they can always be corrected. He remembers the name of every devotee he meets, even children, whom he especially loves. Not only humans, even animals are drawn towards him. Cows come to him when he calls them by name and when he talks to them they have tears in their eyes. Today we are privileged to experience God in the human form,” Dabholkar says. Sadhanatai Upadhye retired as the head of the Marathi department in Wilson College. “When my husband died,” she recalls, “I had lost all hope. Confining myself in my house, I just used to read my books. Meeting Bapu helped me to open the windows of my heart, and I started attending his discourses and participating in his activities,” she says. “He has come to remove the decadence that has set in the world today. His manner of working is upgrading society through education and awareness. He works day and night for the people. When others see the work he is doing, they are also inspired to dedicate themselves to his service. Working for Aniruddha Bapu, I feel that I am working for society and the nation.” In fact, Sadhanatai had been first graced with his darshan when, during her pregnancy in 1964, she used to visit the Vitthala Mandir in Wadala. There she once met a small boy with a happy smile, who gave her a peacock feather and touched her belly. A woman accompanying the boy remarked then that her baby had been blessed by Lord Vitthala himself. Years later, when he himself reminded her about the incident, she realized that the child was none other than eight-year-old Aniruddha himself. Dabholkar has an interesting observation to make. “In the Sai Satcharita, Sai Baba has said that he would take rebirth when eight years of age. This refers to his age when the outside world would first experience his grace, just as Sadhanatai did,” he explains. Dr Santosh Salagre, a lecturer in medicine, is also sure that Bapu has come to alleviate the ills of the world. “We see such a lot of the effects of Kaliyug today. I realized that just like Shri Ram and Shri Krishna (before him), Bapu too has taken birth to solve the problems of our world,” he says. Dr. Narsikar says: “I always respected him and found consolation in his company.” Today he has no doubt that his former classmate is indeed a Sadguru. “Thousands of people have experienced sudden transformation, some even after just one darshan. I have personally talked to many devotees and their experiences cannot be explained by material sciences,” he explains, adding that he makes it a point to regularly attend the evening discourses. Filmmaker Shrabani Deodhar, though spiritual from a young age, “did not fancy the worship of human beings”. She went to Bapu’s programme out of curiosity while working on a TV serial about Shirdi Sai Baba. She says: “I am not from a background where I get carried away easily, but I was soothed and felt very strongly drawn to Bapu.” Suffering from health problems as a result of work pressure, she met Dr Suchit Dada at his clinic, who assured her that she would be completely cured. Thereafter she was privileged to have a personal meeting with Bapu, which she describes as an intense psychoanalytical session. “I had a lot of fear inside me, such as the fear of death that I was not even aware of. During the session all this came out as I learnt how to fight my fear-psychosis. And from there my life really took off. I feel he has come into our life in a big way. He is really our Sadguru,” she says. “The whole approach taught by him has made life so beautiful.” [edit] Bapu on HimselfHowever, Bapu himself has never claimed to be an avatar. In fact, he denies the new role thrust upon him, repeatedly pointing out that Sai Baba was a brahmachari, while he himself is a family man. In an interview with the Marathi weekly Lok Prabha, incidentally the first and only press interview that he agreed to, he explains the occurrence at Sai Niwas as a mere coincidence. “Being aware of the friendship between Sai Baba and Hemadpant, I had casually asked Appa Dabholkar if he had in his possession any articles given to his grandfather by Sai Baba.” [edit] His TeachingsBapu’s teachings boil down to common sense, pure and simple. While teaching bhakti (the path of devotion), he stresses on sincerity and awareness. “For naamsmaran (recitation of the name of God) any name will do, but it should be taken from the heart and with awareness,” he says. “If pressed for time, it is okay to perform puja without taking a bath, rather than not doing it at all,” he clarifies. Disapproving of those who renounce their domestic duties in the pursuit of God, he preaches that a few minutes spent daily thinking about God are sufficient. Harking back, perhaps to his training as a doctor, Bapu strongly advocates an intelligent and scientific approach to life. This blend of spiritual wisdom and pragmatism especially appeals in today’s increasingly materialistic world with its fast-paced schedules and slackening spiritual mores, and perhaps explains the presence of a large number of youth among his devotees. A crusader against superstition and blind faith since his medical days, another facet to Bapu is his role as a social reformer. He has often spoken about the need to eradicate social ills such as caste discrimination and the low status accorded to widows, even declaring that if Manusmriti (Manu’s laws) cannot benefit all it must be discarded. At Ramnavmi Mahotsavs organised by him, the puja is conducted by volunteers, including members of the lower castes. Widows, traditionally debarred from religious ceremonies, also take part in auspicious rites. “What Bapu preaches, he himself practises and even the last rites of his parents were conducted by volunteers from amongst his devotees,” confirms Sunil Mantri, a devotee. Bapu exhorts his disciples to read Sai Satcharita, Sai Baba’s biography written by Hemadpant. To ensure the scientific study of this message of Sai Baba, he introduced the Panchasheel examinations: a set of five exams including practicals at the final level, held twice each year for which thousands of students appear. Dr Salagre refers to the exams as “milestones of my spiritual progress at each level”. “Bapu teaches us different responsibilities, including our social responsibility,” feels Mantri, himself a volunteer and member of the Aniruddha Samarpan Pathak. [edit] A step forwardIn 1999, Aniruddha Bapu established a gurukul at Juinagar, for the propagation of Ayurveda and Mudgal Vidya, the martial arts of ancient India. Under his invaluable guidance, the Sadguru Shree Aniruddha Upasana Trust (SSAUT) has launched the, the Govidyapeetham, established in Karjat, near Mumbai, aims to study the rearing and breeding of cows, combining modern veterinary science with ancient techniques. For the establishment of ‘Ramrajya’ by year 2025, Bapu instituted the Aniruddha Samarpan Pathak and the SSAUT. Inspired by his words “Tu ani mi milun ashakya ase hya jagat kahihi nahi” (There is nothing that you and I together cannot achieve), volunteers involve themselves in social work including rehabilitation of leprosy patients, holding blood donation camps, working for the blind, running de-addiction centres and cleanliness and hygiene awareness. A welfare centre for earthquake victims opened in June 2001, in Kharoi village, Kutch, has a team of volunteers, including qualified medical professionals, administering treatment. As part of the rural development scheme, a few villages in Dhule, Maharashtra, have been adopted by the SSAUT. A unique ‘13-point programme’ was announced by Bapu on October 3, 2002. Its aim: to achieve ‘Samartha Bharat’, a strong and self-reliant India. [edit] Aniruddha Bapu’s 13-point programmeSocial work, charitable activities, conservation, interfaith thinking and scientific attitude blend seemlessly in this unique programme. 1. Charkha: Yarn spun by volunteers is made into cloth to be distributed among needy students and their families. 2. Gograss Yojana: Grass grown by volunteers in areas where water is available year round, is collected and sent to famine-stricken areas as fodder for cattle. 3. Raddi Yojana: Old paper collected from people is converted into paper bags to use instead of non-biodegradable plastic. Paper pulp is used to make articles for distribution to needy students as incentive to go to school. 4. Old is Gold Yojana: Old utensils, clothing, books, toys etc, will be collected for distribution to needy students. 5. Warmth of Love Yojana: Torn cloth is used to make quilts for the poor. 6. Vidya Prakash Yojana: Candles and matchboxes are donated for use by students who do not have electricity to enable them to study. 7. Cleanliness Yojana: Cleaning up of public schools, hospitals and places of worship is undertaken by volunteers. 8. Ahilya Sangh Yojana: Will work towards the empowerment of women. 9. New Universal Dharmagrantha: To free society of unnecessary ritual and blind faith, a new Dharma—confluence of Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism and Buddhism—will be introduced by Bapu. 10. Information Bank: Every Thursday, before his discourse, Bapu will impart scientific information and update devotees on new scientific discoveries. 11. Bhartiya Bhasha Sangram: To inculcate a sense of brotherhood among Indians, volunteers will learn at least one language other than their mother tongue. 12. Study of the Five Continents: Progress and politics of the five continents will be studied. 13. Disaster Management Volunteers: An academy of Disaster Management will train volunteers to tackle natural and man-made disasters. Eco-friendly Paper pulp idols to curb water pollution The non-governmental organisation, SSAUT, headed by Bapu, has taken up the task of spreading awareness about environment-friendly Ganesh idols. "One-and-a-half months back we decided to encourage people to make Ganesh idols using paper pulp, which will reduce pollution and won't harm fish," said Sandhyaveera Jaykar, a member of the trust. Earlier, Jaykar said, idols were made of clay, which is not easily available and is heavy. So artists started using plaster of paris, which is cheaper and lighter, and chemicals. But these cause pollution. The organisation collects waste paper, shreds it, and turns it into pulp, which is then rinsed, dried, and again put into a mixer to get fine powder. The powder is then mixed with water to be made into papier mache. Around 20 per cent clay and starch is added to the material so that it binds well. Except for the golden colour used for the crown and other ornaments, the colours used are natural, mostly vegetable dyes. "Golden colour makes the idols attractive," Jaykar said. "We are trying to find out how to make eco-friendly golden colour." Idols prepared in this fashion dissolve in water within a few hours. "We got a very good response from people, who called us from various places to congratulate us for our efforts," she said. "We also received idol orders from them." This year the trust made idols in three sizes 6, 9, and 13 inches high, costing Rs 75, Rs 150, and Rs 175, respectively. They received orders for 235 idols from Mumbai and 35 from Pune. "Making Ganesh idols using paper pulp is easy and anyone can come to learn it from us," said Chetan Dabholkar, another member of the trust. "We do not charge any fee." The trust has also approached professional idol-makers to teach them how to make the eco-friendly idols. "We taught an idol-maker from Pen, where a lot of idols are made," said Dabholkar. "He has agreed to promote the use of paper pulp in idol-making." The trust's job doesn't end with making idols, though. There is also a post-immersion plan in place, where devotees visit various seafronts a day after the immersion and collect all the idols that have floated back. These idols are then re-immersed. Also, the floral offerings, which are not allowed to be thrown into sea, lie scattered on the beaches. These are also picked up and taken away for vermiculture. Wing Commander (retd.) Ravindra Parasnis, comments on Bapu, even before Bapu came to be known as Sadguru, was a competent doctor with a reputation for curing many incurable conditions. Again, Bapu has always been involved in social work and has successfully brought back people who had gone astray, such as drug addicts and alcoholics. “Also, as a guru he is great and gives practical and good advice,” he feels. Though personally not sure about his divinity as avatar of God, he says: “I definitely respect him as a guru. I have attended only a few of his pravachans, but I like what he preaches.” An accomplished medical doctor, Mumbai-based Aniruddha Joshi is today revered by millions as the reincarnation of the Sai Baba of Shirdi. Credited with having performed many miracles, he nevertheless advocates a practical blend of spirituality and science. Aniruddha Bapu’s blend of spiritual wisdom and pragmatism appeals in today’s materialistic world with its fast pace and slackening spiritual mores. [edit] Devotees CornerOm Manasamarthyadata Shree Aniruddhaya Namah I and my spouse were blessed with a daughter in June 2006. During February 2007, our little angel had fever which continued for more than a month. We consulted our doctor several times but with no improvements. Meanwhile we had to report the doctor with her blood report taken twice and other tests only to find that fever was not due to malaria, dengu and any such diseases. Till then both of us were realy worried as our daughter already lost 1 kg weight. Then she started having loose motion which was turning towards a major concern. We changed the doctor who assured that it was a viral fever and it would take some time to recover as a lot of time has already passed without proper treatment. In between my spouse some day was watching a movie on Sri Sai Baba of Shiridi where Shri Sai was giving Udhi to cure his children. Watching that she cried in her heart and thought that perhaps Sai would have come and given her Udhi too and our angel would have got cured. You believe it or not, Our neighbours (Mrs. Sushma Surendra Bade) who stayed above us knowing that our kid is ill came that day and asked us whether we would accept Udhi. The strange thing is that neither they nor we interacted earlier. My spouse without giving a second thought accepted the Udhi and gave it to our daughter. For the next one and a half hours she pooed only once and then it stopped. I was not spritual at all, though my spouse was, but after that incident, I could not resist myself from beliving "that" power which no human can control. Slowly we came to know more about Aniruddha Bapu, and started visiting the Paduka of Bapu every Saturday till now. Both of u have accepted Bapu as our guru. We also visited for Bapu's darshan during this Guru Purnima 2007 at Mumbai. Om Manasamarthyadata Shree Aniruddhaya Namah

What I'm proposing is a very simple translation of the template de:Vorlage:BoxRec ID. It can be used to replace hundreds of external links (see here). It should have the following source code:

[edit] Primitive Christianity in Crisis
Primitive Christianity in Crisis is a Sabbatarian Christian book written by Alan Knight. It historically documents the collision of religions that produced the chaotic world of Christianity of the first century A.D., a Christian religious world essentially the same as what we see about us today. Author/historian Alan Knight gives his solutions to a number of New Testament riddles, including the historical identity of the apostasy that destroyed the Thyatira church, described as 'the deep things of Satan' in Revelation 2. There also is much new historical data from the original Gnostic Christian texts demonstrating the range of Gnostic and Nicolaitan teachings, and their surprising similarity to modern Christian belief. The emergence of modern Christianity in the early centuries A.D. is traced back to a great religious reformation that occured more than six centuries before Christ was born. This reformation produced a new spiritual religion of the inner man in Greece, which directly competed with New Testament Christianity in the first century and ultimately absorbed it. The first edition of Primitve Christianity in Crisis was published in 2000, the second edition in 2003, and the third edition in 2006; each edition published by A.R.K. research. Primitive Christianity in Crisis is Volume 1 of Alan Knight's WPC (World of Primitive Christianity) series. [edit] Creating A Customized Estate Plan
More and more people are becoming less and less concerned about estate planning as estate tax is effecting fewer and fewer people. An individual can die today and leave as much as $2,000,000 to whomever she wants free of any estate tax. With a property drafted estate plan, a married couple can leave as much as $4,000,000 tax free. That means that the number of families that actually have an estate tax problem has become considerably smaller. However, the biggest issues in estate planning are not tax related, and everyone still needs to consider having their own customized estate plan. The following are common estate planning questions that people frequently ask regarding the most fundamental estate planning issues, all of which are non-tax related. The answers to these common questions may surprise you. Without a plan, who will raise my children and handle my money for them after I die? Everything is more complex when children are involved. Without a plan, and if there is no surviving parent, a judge will appoint a guardian to raise your children and a conservator to take custody of the assets you are passing to your children. If the children’s other parent is still alive, there is little that you can do to keep your children from being raised by the living parent. However, with the right plan in place, you can insure your assets are left to the beneficiary or beneficiaries of your choice. Without the right plan, upon your death, your living spouse or ex-spouse will likely have custody of your children and your money. As custodian of all your assets passing to minor children, your living spouse or ex spouse will be able to spend those assets how ever he or she sees fit. There is no legal obligation as to where your assets can be spent. Without a plan, will my spouse get all of my assets? Probably the biggest issues arise when there are surviving children from a prior relationship. If you have children who are not the children of your surviving spouse, your surviving spouse will only get his own one-half share of community property and one-half of your separate property. Your children from a prior relationship will get your half of all community property as well as the remaining half of your separate property. Without a plan, who will get all of my assets if I have no spouse or children? If you have no children and die without a plan, all assets will pass equally to your surviving parents. If your parents are dead, everything will pass equally to your siblings. It is becoming more and more common for someone to request that a loved one who is not a spouse, a child, a parent, or a sibling to receive the majority of assets upon death. Without a customized estate plan, your assets will pass according to state law to persons whom you may have never intended thereby cutting out those whom may be closest to you. Can I keep my children from wasting my money, and keep my money from wasting my children? Regardless of whether you consider yourself wealthy, more likely than not, you will leave a fortune to your children upon death in the way of life insurance death benefits, retirement accounts and home equity. Without a customized estate plan, your children will receive all of those assets outright upon reaching the age of 21. In almost all cases, no child is ready at age 21 to handle the hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars. Outright distributions of an inheritance can leave children with little incentive to finish college, pursue a career, or make social contributions. Years latter, after the money is gone, your children can find themselves penniless, without an education and without means to support themselves. A customized estate plan can keep your assets in trust for your children beyond age 21. Customized trust provisions drafted into your estate plan can place excellent trustees in control of your children’s inheritance. Distributions can be limited to education, healthcare and modest support during what should be your children’s college years. Distributions can be made available at the discretion of the Trustee to distribute to assist your child in purchasing their first home, getting married, or starting a business. A provision can stipulate that after college, distributions will only be made to supplement what the child is able to earn through his or her own efforts, insuring self sufficiency after the money is gone. Additionally, it is always wise to stagger any outright distributions of trust principal allowing the child to learn and work with the money he or she has. An example of staggering outright distributions of principal would be distributing one-third of remaining principal at age 25, one-half of what is left at 30, and making the final distribution of everything else at 35. These provisions will not only prevent your child from wasting your money, they will prevent your money from wasting your child. Can I make sure that my money doesn’t go my child’s spouse, aka “monster-in-law”? Today the biggest creditor of your estate may be your child’s spouse or ex-spouse. Even though inheritances are not automatically considered community property that would be available to your son or daughter-in-law upon divorce, it is very common for an unsuspecting spouse to commingle the inheritance with other community assets thereby creating a presumption in favor of the community. A customized estate plan can prevent the son or daughter-in-law from having any claim on your money what so ever. Who will be in charge of distributing my assets? A Personal Representative is the person appointed as part of the probate process. The Personal Representative will gather all of your assets into one pot, from which any taxes due are paid and distributions to your heirs are made. If you die without an estate plan, a judge will appoint the Personal Representative, at her discretion, to take custody and distribute your assets. Such Personal Representative may receive a percentage of all your assets as compensation. What is probate? www.azprobate.com. Probate is the process of transferring title to property when the owner dies. Not all assets have a title that must be transferred by probate upon death. Retirement accounts and insurance death benefits will pass to the designated beneficiary outside of probate. However, whether you die with or without a will, certain assets that are titled in your name must be probated upon your death in order to pass to your intended beneficiaries. The advantage of probate is that it can help to prevent anyone from perpetrating fraud after you die, but the disadvantages can be numerous. The probate process can last from between six to 18 months and can cost several thousands of dollars in attorney's fees, appraisals, court costs, administration expenses and advertising costs. Additionally, the proceedings and inventories become accessible to interested creditors and family members, whom you may not want knowing how much you are worth and what assets you own. If you have considerable assets in Arizona, it is usually a good idea to avoid probate. The need for probate can be avoided by transferring assets that are titled in your name, which would otherwise need to be transferred upon death by probate, to a living trust while you are still alive. This will prevent your loved ones from having to deal with the hassle of probate following your death. What do I need to do before I die? A customized estate plan can address the numerous non-tax related issues that arise in the event of death. It’s important not only to specify who will get what, but to specify how. The best approach is to work with a qualified attorney who can draft everything that you want into the provisions of a customized estate plan, while following execution of the documents that memorialize your intentions. It is always advisable to have a family meeting to discuss exactly what you are trying to accomplish with your estate plan. It is also a good idea to invite your attorney to this meeting to explain how the trusts will work. Explaining to your children and your grandchildren how the trusts will work at this type of meeting can help prevent litigation upon your death. There is no need to tell your children how much they will be getting, but it is never too soon to let your children know what you expect from them. Be sure to emphasize that all your decisions were made with their best interests at heart. Introduce your children to your financial advisor at that meeting. Allow your financial advisor to explain what you are doing with your money, and you should encourage them to allow your advisor to assist them with their own investments. That relationship can save your children a great deal of confusion upon your death and can potentially save them from paying additional expenses upon your death by moving all of your assets to another advisor. Great peace of mind comes from knowing that you have the right plan in place and your children are already engaged in working with the same professionals whom you trust. If your children are already working with your attorney and your financial advisor before you die, then after your death, they are much less likely to hire unqualified professionals who will be unable to facilitate the actualization of the goals and intentions that drive your customized estate plan. [edit] GMS
GMS (Giordano Memorization System) was a system created in 1990 by Vladimir A. Kozarenko. It was specifically designed for efficient memorization of everyday useful information, including the information we encounter while studying different subjects. Everyday useful information may include phone numbers, street addresses, shopping lists, names, etc. Though GMS also allows users to to efficiently remember seemingly unrelated and illogical information – sets of words, random numbers, maps and any combination of letters. GMS is based on mnemonics. “Mnemonics” means a memorization technique. It is derived from a Greek word “mnemonikon” – an art of memorization. It is believed that Pythagoras of Samos invented the word in 6th century B.C. The memorization art is called “mnemonikon” after a Greek goddess of memory, Mnemosine, the mother of nine muses. The first surviving works on mnemonics date back to 86-82 B.C and belong to Cicero and Quintilian (see “History of mnemonics”). Modern encyclopedias define mnemonics in different ways: Mnemonics – an art of memorization, a set of methods and techniques that ease the memorization process and help increase memory volume by creating artificial associations. Mnemonic techniques: 1) the same as mnemonics; 2) circus or a stage trick based on the memorization art (guessing numbers, things, dates or names). The trick is performed by two artists using a specially developed code. Mnemonics can also be defined in a way that reflects modern mnemonics more precisely. Mnemonics – a system of inner writing that produces the ability to consecutively record information in to the brain, by transforming the information into a combination of visual images. Mnemonics makes use of natural memory mechanisms and makes it possible to fully control the memorization, storage and retrieval processes. GMS is the result of a lengthy systematic research. Its practical basis is the principles of classic mnemonics and elements from the Giordano Bruno memorization system. The theoretical foundation is an original model of memory that was developed on the basis of a modern conception of the quasi holographic nature of the brain’s work. How it Works The Giordano Memorization System does not ask the user to make up creative phrases, sentences and stories to aid in the process of memorization. This system also does not use any emotional manipulation techniques to aid in the process of memorization. The process of memorization is divided into four stages: 1. Encoding the elements of information into visual images; 2. The memorization process itself; 3. Remembering the sequence of information; 4. Fixation of the information in your brain. A concept of “association” is introduced as a group of images that serve to encode information. In GMS, the “association” concept differs from the concept of “connection of images”. The main thinking operation that leads to consciously turning on the memory process is clearly defined. This operation is the “connection of images”. Figurative codes are widely used as instruments of speed memorization. The system of encoding numbers into images is based upon the following alphanumeric code: 1 – N, 2 – THZ, 3 – B, 4 – WVK, 5 – FR, 6 – JPX, 7 – SD, 8 – GQL, 9 – C, 0 – M. Basically in GMS the user uses visual images to memorize different information. For Example: “Ankar” movie theatre - 123-77-58. A GMS user remembers an image of a “hangar” and images of a “notebook”,”dish” and “film”. These images are all used to memorize the phone number for the Ankar movie theatre. The reason for using visual images for numbers is because the brain does not remember purely numerical combinations and encoding memorized information into visual images is a necessity. The brain cannot memorize anything except for visual images. [edit] SourcesGMS Manual by V. Kozarenko 67.185.54.177 22:27, 30 July 2007 (UTC) [[Category:Articles for creation templates|{{PAGENAME}}]]

[edit] Jay Ralph
- Deleted since it appears twice. Alan Liefting 00:11, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Jay Ralph
Jay Ralph was born in Hertfordshire on the 23rd of February 1985. He is a big name in the Media Arts (in particular, film) industry – swayed towards the career, some claim, by what surrounded him during his early childhood (specifically the town of Borehamwood, with its history in the film industry, which is situated near his hometown of Watford). Jay is also renowned for his musical talent (and frequently works alongside (and in perfect harmony (excuse the pun) with) the Music staff at Stanchester School. However, although he is commonly mistaken for musician ‘J. Ralph’, he is evidently not – the ‘J’ in ‘J. Ralph’ stands for ‘Joshua’, and should not be mistaken for ‘Jay’. Jay Ralph completed many of his early years of education without incident – however, during his first year at the University of Cambridge he was discovered to be taking huge doses of the hallucinogenic drug LSD after he had stumbled into the King’s College Chapel shouting about how his feet had ‘turned into waffle irons’. After further investigation, it was discovered he had been using the drug for a number of years, although admittedly without such obvious incidents. From 2004, Jay was taking a break from his jet set lifestyle, and was working as a Media Arts Technician in a small Somerset school in the UK[1]. However, all of this was changed in 2007 as he took on some filming work on the blockbuster film ‘28 Weeks Later’ – and he has been slowly adjusting to the work since, and has had other notable jobs such as some post-production work on the (at time of writing) unreleased film ‘Inkheart’[2]. The School of Phenomenal Memory teach students how to memorize information by using the Giordano Memorization System. The course is made up of fifty nine separate lessons. Each course is emailed to you and should be done on your own free time. The minimum amount of lessons that should be done in a week is three while the maximum is seven. There is no time limit to finish all fifty nine courses, but usually students are done from either in two months are about five months depending on how many lessons you do a week. The website is completely functional and also includes a forum where new students can talk to current students and ask about their experiences. Not only are students able to enter the forum but anyone who is interested in talking to the school's students are also allowed.
