[edit] Notes

  • 100th Grand Prix Win: Ferrari
  • 50th Grand Prix start: Satoru Nakajima
  • In one of the most remarkable turn arounds in Grand Prix history the Leyton House cars ran first and second for much of the race. Neither car had qualified in Mexico. Gugelmin stopped from 2nd late on whilst Ivan Capelli led until 3 laps from home when his engine encountered problems to finish 2nd.
