1966 Masters Tournament

The 1966 Masters Tournament was contested from April 7 to April 11 at Augusta National Golf Club. It was the 30th Masters Tournament. 103 players entered the tournament and 64 of them made the cut at nine-over-par (153).

In an 18-hole playoff, Jack Nicklaus earned his third Green Jacket to became the Masters first back-to-back champion. Nicklaus ended regulation at 288 (E) tied with Tommy Jacobs and Gay Brewer. Nicklaus shot a 70 in the extra round to defeat Jacobs (72) and Brewer (78). This year any player within 10 strokes of the lead qualified for the final two rounds.

Gary Player finished tied for 28th place at eleven-over-par. This was the last Masters tournament that two-time champion Byron Nelson played in. He shot a 76 and a 78 (154) to miss the cut by one stroke.

Terry Dill won the Par 3 contest with a score of 22.
