At that time, he was influenced by mixtapes from Keith Smith Jr. on local radio station Stereo Rey, and Martin Delgado radioshows on Stereo 100 and WFM (1983-1985). He began getting his first 12" around 1982-1983. He later started to focus on the DJ scene of that time. By 1985, he started with a friend his first block parties simply for fun. By 1989, he was more involved with some close friends who taught him more about music and DJing skills and with some professional DJs of that time.

During 1990, Restrepo got his first job as helper in some "second class" clubs. By the end of that year, he competed in the first DJ Championships, "La Opera 1990" in Queretaro. He didn't win, but he tried to get involved with the professional DJs that assist to the Finals and semifinals.
