WRJR (1010 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Religious music format. Licensed to Portsmouth, Virginia, USA, it serves the Hampton Roads area. The station is currently owned by Radio Disney Group, LLC.
Back in the 1950s this station was Top 40 WHIH, and it is said that future "Today" show weatherman Willard Scott, Robert Smith, later known as "Wolfman Jack", and Joe Hoppel, who later became a fixure for many years at WCMS AM & FM , were all employed there as DJs.
The call letters, WRJR, became available in the early 1980's when Bates College changed it's call letters to WRBC.
