[edit] History

WMKG-LP was founded by Bud Kelley and his family in 1989 as W40AK. It first went on the air on April 1, 1990. It originally broadcast on channel 40. The call letters were changed in 1995. It moved to channel 38 in 2004. In September 2006, Comcast cable dropped the station from its og channel lineup to allocate more bandwidth for video on demand services. [1] Currently, the station is available only on digital cable.

[edit] News

No local news program, although it had one for most of its history at 5:30pm.

  • "Dial A Bargain"
  • "Muskegon Today"
  • "Table Talk"
  • "The Doorstop Nation"
  • "TV BINGO"

[edit] Station for sale

In October 2007, Kelley Enterprises has put the station up for sale, including the license and equipment, citing that the owner is retiring and has plans to move south. However, the owners are selling the station in an unorthodox method -- using eBay. The minimum price for the station is $700,000, using the "Buy it Now" feature. The transaction, however, will still require FCC approval, as with all other station purchases. ([2],[3])
