[edit] DCT Comic

There was also a DC Thompson storypaper of the 40's-50's called The Wizard, which i beleive at one stage incorporated another, older paper, the Rover. Both published "Boys' own" style stories. I think it started to become a "picture story paper" (ie with text stories and some comic strips). Later it was revived in the 60's-70's as a comic with only a few written stories and folded around 1977 86.145.229.205 (talk) 17:31, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

I now have a volume of issues from the 1940's and it was still almost entirely a storypaper at that point, with the only comic strip being on the front cover, an extremely racist (so that it's still funny nowadays with the sheer absurdity of it) series of short strips in which two white sailors stranded on an island full of "nigs" have some problem or discover something and then contrive some invention, which usually leads to chaos on a big panel with a lot of sight gags 82.153.230.130 (talk) 11:37, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
