[edit] New Mexico discussion from Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals
Description: This project would focus on the creation, expansion, and maintenance of articles related to the state of New Mexico.
Temporary project page:

- — SMcCandlish [talk] [cont] ‹(-¿-)› 11:22, 14 April 2007 (UTC) (but remind me later; I don't check in here very often).
Comments:
- I have especial interest in protecting and improving New Mexican cuisine which is semi-frequently attacked by "uh, this is the same as Mexican cuisine" skeptics, much to my Hatch-green-chile-fuelled chagrin. — SMcCandlish [talk] [cont] ‹(-¿-)› 11:24, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] wikibreak
Due to circumstances in my life, I need to reduce my activity in Wikipedia, and will be taking a leave of absence. I wish the Project the best of success while I am away. Chris 21:52, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] So now what?
- This seems like a reasonable idea, but when all of the articles are of unknown importance and priority, what's the point? -- Bill-on-the-Hill 13:57, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- Well, you may want to start by identifying the articles that you consider to be top priority to this project and adding that parameter to their talk page banners. While you're doing that it would probably be a good idea to check the articles and mark the parameter matching your opinion regarding what class they fall into (stub, start, B, or A). If you have time, you may wish to write a comment regarding what work still needs to be done. By doing so, you will have prioritized some to-do items for the project. --GentlemanGhost 13:25, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
It helps to display a table of project articles by quality and importance. I have enabled the table display at the top of this page. Woo hoo, this project already has over 1000 articles! I have also tweaked the project template so that it directs talk page readers to this project talk page. --Una Smith (talk) 15:10, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Nest your project banner?
You may wish to add nesting capability (see {{WikiProjectBannerShell}}) to your project's talk page banner. This allows banners to be hidden and, hence, the TOC to be closer to the top of the talk page when an article is within the scope of several WikiProjects. --GentlemanGhost 13:18, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Banner
Added NM Banner in order to revive your project. Best wishes! Miranda 19:30, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Trinity test GA Sweeps Review: On Hold
As part of the WikiProject Good Articles, we're doing sweeps to go over all of the current GAs and see if they still meet the GA criteria. I have left this message at this task forces's talk page so that any interested members can assist in helping the article keep its GA status. I'm specifically going over all of the "World History-Americas" articles. I have reviewed Trinity test and believe the article currently meets the majority of the criteria and should remain listed as a Good article. In reviewing the article, I have found there are some issues that may need to be addressed, and I'll leave the article on hold for seven days for them to be fixed. Please consider helping address the several points that I listed on the talk page of the article, which shouldn't take too long to fix. If you have any questions, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 09:23, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] getting the project listed in the WikiProjects TOC
Wikipedia:WikiProject_Council/Directory/Geographical/North_America -- I see that the NM Project is listed in the USA box, but doesn't have an entry of its own in the list of individual state projects that follows below (notice that it's missing from the TOC). How can that be fixed? Aristophanes68 (talk) 14:36, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- It can be fixed simply by editing the page, copying the section for another state, and editing the state name. I have just fixed it. --Una Smith (talk) 14:51, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Taos High School
There's a content dispute at Taos High School. Perhaps some editors from this project could take a look and help out? Part (but not all) of the problem is also a serious lack of references. If you can help with that, it would be appreciated! Aleta Sing 03:41, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] coas books
Would a page on Coas Books be appropriate and relevant to Las Cruces History? 70.56.139.28 (talk) 00:59, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] New Mexico mystery rail with trail
Rails with trails includes a map from a reliable source, showing 2 rails with trails in New Mexico. One is the Santa Fe Rail Trail along the Santa Fe Southern Railway, but I cannot identify the other. Based on the relative positions of the dots on that map, the mystery railroad is either somewhere east of Taos, or somewhere west of Albuquerque. Help? Please respond on Talk:Rails with trails. Thanks! --Una Smith (talk) 20:56, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
