Introduction

Scope and Motivation
Our scope covers all Manitoba-related articles; this includes cities, flowers, animals, history figures, and other miscellaneous Manitoba content. For purposes of organization, all such articles should be included in the Category:Manitoba, or one of its subcategories.
- Manitoba is nicknamed the "Gateway to the West", being just west of the Longitudinal Center of Canada.
- Winnipeg, the capital of Manitoba, is home to The Forks, a national Historic site of Canada.
- Being very rich in bilingual culture, Manitoba has two official languages:English and French.
- Manitoba was recognized as a province in 1870, making it one of the oldest provinces of Canada.
- Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport is one of Canada's busiest airports for passenger traffic.
[edit] Guidelines
-
- All articles related to Manitoba in some way, whether it be a historical figure, a flower, or even an image should be tagged with {{WikiProject Canada |class= |importance= | mb=yes }} , the project banner. This identifies them as within our scope, and places them in to a category, to allow organization, and future improvement.
- Participants in the project should remain civil when communicating within the project.
- Be bold in editing articles, or templates related to the project. This is a wiki, so if someone doesn't like your change, they can just revert it back. It can't hurt!

Please feel free to list your new WikiProject Manitoba-related articles here (newer articles at the top, please). Any new articles that have an interesting or unusual fact in them should be suggested for the Did you know? box on the Main Page.
[edit] Templates
- {{WikiProject Canada|mb=yes|class=|importance=}} This template should be used on talk pages of articles within the project's scope to identify them as in WikiProject Manitoba.
[edit] Infoboxes
{{Infobox Settlement}} —All settlements in Manitoba should use {{Infobox Settlement}}. This infobox provides a consistent look between the various types settlements in Manitoba (such as Winnipeg) and settlements in the other parts of Canada like Toronto, Montreal, St. John's, and Edmonton. The default "settlement_type" is city, but it can be changed to reflect any type of settlement, like counties, towns, villages, etc. {{Infobox Settlement}} also has a super imposable dot map feature that allows a map to be used with any settlement in Manitoba.
There is now a locator map for Manitoba. For how to use, for size of button, text, caption etc. see {{Location map}}
[edit] Categories
- Category:WikiProject Manitoba articles This is the category which includes all articles currently with the {{WikiProject Canada|mb=yes|class=|importance=}} template.
