}}
  • Cartoon Name: The official title of the film, as spelled onscreen or in official production documents.
  • Series: The short film series to which the short belongs. For blanket series such as Looney Tunes and Terrytoons, notate the starring character(s) of the short alongside the series title, for example Terrytoons (Mighty Mouse) series instead of just Terrytoons series. This field is optional.
  • Image and Caption: All you need for the image code is the name of the image file without the "Image:" at the front. Each image is automatically formatted to a maximum width of 230 pixels. The image for the infobox should be a poster, the main title card (if it has artwork depicting the characters), or a clear screenshot of the characters. The caption should identify the characters depicted, and explain where the image came from. These fields are optional.
  • The credits for Director(s), Story(board) artist(s), Animator(s), Layout artist(s), Background artist(s), Narrator, Voice actor(s), Musician(s), and Producer(s) should identify the persons credited onscreen, as well as others who were not credited. Cast and crew should ideally be credited as they were in the original onscreen titles (for example, Charles M. Jones instead of Chuck Jones for most of his films). Voice actors and musicians are optional fields.
  • Studio: The animation studio/company who made the film, if it is not the same as the distributor. For example, all "Warner Bros." cartoons released before 1944 were produced by Leon Schlesinger Productions. This field is optional.
  • Distributor: The company who released the film.
  • Release date: The release date for each country, followed by the country name in parenthesis: February 15, 1991 (USA)
  • Color process: Type of film stock used to make the film. For most cartoons, this should be filled only with one of the following choices: black and white, Sepia tone, Technicolor, Technicolor (two-color), Cinecolor, Polacolor, or Metrocolor. For more modern (post-1970) cartoons, "Color" will suffice.
  • Runtime: The running time of the cartoon, rounded to the nearest minute.
  • preceded_by: If the film is part of a series, insert the film that preceded it in the series.
  • followed_by: If the film is part of a series, insert the film that followed it in the series.
  • Movie language: The language spoken in the film. If it is a silent film, type "Silent".
  • IMDb ID: the numeric portion of the film's IMDb url.

[edit] Animated feature films

For animated feature films, use {{Infobox Film}}:

{{Infobox Film
| name =
| image =
| caption =
| director =

| preceded_by =
| followed_by =
| amg_id =
| imdb_id =
}}
  • Name: The official name of the film, as seen onscreen or in promotional material.
  • Image and Caption: In the "Image" field, add the entire image name without the "Image:" prefix. The default width for images in the Infobox is 200 pixels, but should they come out too small, add something like "image_size = 100px" into that field. An original poster for the film should be most convenient, but a DVD cover or screenshot would come in handy if the poster cannot be found. The caption should depict the description of the Infobox image. (These fields are optional.)
  • Director, Producer and Writer: The people who directed, produced and wrote the film.
  • Starring: The voice talents who starred in the film.
  • Music: The musician(s) and composer(s) who worked on the film's score.
  • Cinematography: In the case of animated movies, this field is referred to as the "animation camera" unit. Usually, most articles on animated films will lack this information.
  • Editing: The editor(s) of the film.
  • Distributor: The company who initially distributed the film.
  • Released: The release date of the film (usually in the United States).
  • Runtime: The running time (in minutes).
  • Country: The country where the production took place (for example, in the case of this project, the United States).
  • Language: The language(s) spoken in the movie.
  • Budget: The film's cost in US$.
  • Preceded/Followed by: If the film is part of a series, then mention which installments preceded (came after) and followed (came before) it. For instance, in the case of The Lion King (whose code is shown below), part of the Disney animated features canon, Aladdin should be in the "preceded_by" space, and Pocahontas in "followed_by".
  • AMG ID: The numeric portion of the film's URL at the All Movie Guide (1:xxxxxx).
  • IMDb ID: The numeric portion of its IMDb URL.
