WCPR-FM (97.9 FM) is a radio station licensed to Wiggins, Mississippi, and broadcasting from Saucier, Mississippi, on a 466-foot tower at 50,000 watts of power. WCPR plays all new rock alternative and some active rock from the 1980s and 1990s. The station's signal reaches from Slidell, Louisiana, to Mobile, Alabama, and almost as far north as Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
The station started with a country music format and was called WUSD US 98 from 1995 to 1996. Sometime in 1996 WCPR was born and became the the first rock station in the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
