  • Venezuela will join the Mercosur as a formal member in December of the current year. The decision was confirmed by the Uruguayan Foreign Relations Minister, Reinaldo Gargano, after a reunion among heads of states in the Spanish city of Salamanca. According to this, Venezuela would become the fifth official member of the trade bloc. Reuters

  • Large demonstrations were held across the country in backup of RCTV, freedom of speech and pluralism.
