Valdemārpils (pronunciation (help·info)) is a city in northwestern Latvia, near Talsi. The city is named after Krišjānis Valdemārs, born in nearby Ārlava parish, who started modern Latvian seafaring. He is celebrated in the city with a memorial stone.
