[edit] Picture quality

"The picture quality of some of the Canadian finds was not up to the exacting standards of the BBC, and so their marketablilty was severely limited."

Can this statement be substantiated? The BBC hold a number of programmes in the same condition (ie, NTSC conversions recovered from Canada) and this hasn't prevented them from releasing the shows on home video in the past. I'm thinking particularly of things like Moonbase 3 and a number of Jon Pertwee Doctor Who stories. Why is Up Pompeii! different? 84.92.48.33 23:47, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Spelling (well, punctuation) of title

Shouldn't this be moved to "Up Pompeii!", since the title of the show explicitly includes an exclamation mark (and this page would, of course, redirect to it)? I think the same goes for "Whoops Baghdad!", though I've only ever seen a trailer for that, not the show itself. Not too important, though -- it's not a big thing... ooh no, titter ye not!! Honestly, you've got to watch what you say around here! Anyway, I don't know how to do page moves and I'd probably just mess it up, so can anyone else handle it? [edit] NTSC

I'd be interested to know which episodes only exist as NTSC copies. --Tower 03:03, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Most of them. IIRC, only the pilot, 'Britannicus' and 'Roman Holiday' survive in original PAL. I'm not sure about the BBC's 'Further Up Pompeii', and presumably the ITV one is Ok, since it was more recent.

[edit] Plot edit

As tonights episode was the one with his mistress in the bath, sadly I can say Nay, Nay and thrice Nay, the "naked actress/camera panning" example is false as the actress was clearly wearing something and the camera did indeed pan. Shame really, but accuracy is was it is. So I've edited it out. VonBlade (talk) 21:35, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
