The University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, also known as USF Sarasota-Manatee, is a regional campus of the University of South Florida that was established in 1975. Along with the main campus in Tampa, Florida, USF Sarasota-Manatee has two sister campuses in Lakeland and St. Petersburg, the latter being autonomous.
USF Sarasota-Manatee offers over 40 bachelor's degree, master's degree, and certificate programs in Arts & Sciences, Business, Education, Engineering, Nursing, Hotel & Restaurant Management, and Information Technology. Day, evening, & weekend classes are offered at its new campus just north of University Parkway. The campus also boasts a location in south Sarasota County at Manatee Community College in Venice.

The University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee opened in 1975 as a satellite campus of the University of South Florida.
[edit] Ties with New College
Since its creation in 1975, the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee shared a campus with the New College of Florida.[1] New College and USF Sarasota-Manatee would continue to share campuses until a new campus was built for USF Sarasota Manatee. The new campus opened on August 28, 2006. [2] The campus is a 100,000-square-foot (9,300 m²) facility with 24 classrooms, a 190-seat lecture/exhibition hall, seminar and video-conferencing rooms, computer labs, a child-care center, student gathering places, faculty and staff offices, a technology and learning center, dining facilities, and training facilities for the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management.[3]
