Template talk:UCLA

[edit] If Cal's new template and UCLA's old template got drunk one night and mated, what would the offspring look like?
I've revamped UCLA's template based on my pan-UC'able, UCSC-class navigational template series (User:Dynaflow/Crap-I-Made), using the information from UCLA's previous template, in order that UCLA's page footer might match the other UCs'.
The only thing I'm not happy with is the rather brutish way I absentmindedly cropped the Powell library photo in GIMP, but I'm sure someone who cares more about it than I do will happen along one day and fix it. The current picture is too thick, leaving the viewer unsatisfied in the way you feel when settling for the potato wedges at a fish'n'chips joint when what you really want are In-n-Out fries. Someone will solve this problem; I'm sure of it. Hooray for massively-distributed projects! --Dynaflow 06:11, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- [cross-posted from the picture] I have deliberately made the cropping job on temporary picture I uploaded even uglier in the hopes that someone at UCLA will get off his or her ass and take a replacement picture, as per my request at UCLA's Talk page. Who, oh who, will answer the call? Just take the picture and click "Upload new version;" it doesn't really matter if it fits the file name or not. The replacement picture must be of about these currect dimensions, or else the image will look really bloated and ugly in the UCLA template, like the image this current one replaced did. Just make sure the new photo is kosher in regards to WP:F. --Dynaflow 09:23, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Request
Request The external link to the UCLA Bruin Life Yearbook Archive was removed with this template. I would like to please add it back next to the Daily Bruin link. The UCLA Bruin Life Yearbook has been the official record of history and tradition at UCLA since the 1919-1920 school year when the Southern Branch of the University of California became UCLA. The yearbook has garnered a number of industry awards through the years, including recognition in national competitions more than 30 times. The yearbook archive contains portrait pictures of thousands of UCLA alumni, faculty and staff. In addition, the yearbook archive includes sections on student clubs, athletics, greek life, famous speakers, rock bands, honor societies, military groups, student publications, dorm life, academics and many other categories of information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cbmichael (talk • contribs)
- Adding an external link to a template for intra-wiki navigation does not make any sense. See WP:NAV. The correct place to want to put an external link would be in the main article UCLA, and the appropriate place to discuss that addition would be on that article's Talk page. I see that you have opened a thread at Talk:University of California, Los Angeles, and you should continue your discussion there. --Dynaflow babble 05:38, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
