Hey Triona! I have been given a warning on my talk page for something I have not done. I am an estabished editor (User:Symode09) and, believe this is some coincidence. Thanks 203.59.173.29 (talk) 08:58, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Nonviolent Revolution
Please read the article's talk page. As I said there, I don't have all the sources directly to hand, and I'm not 100% confident in my ability to write a properly NPOV section, but the section should definitely exist, and I'm hoping that my first attempt will encourage others to fill it in.
I've just started looking at the Colour Revolutions page to see if there are any sources there that apply to the Nonviolent Revolution page as well. If not, if I get a chance later, and nobody else has done it, I'll try to dig up sources elsewhere.
Thanks. --76.204.77.196 (talk) 10:45, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Warnings
The whole point of huggle is to automate the process of warning vandals, because all these different levels and templates are unnecessary and the less time wasted on it the better. First, if a user ignores their first vandalism warning, they are going to ignore all others as well. No user has ever ignored the first three vandalism warnings and then suddenly decided to pay attention to the fourth. They may have got bored and stopped editing and so appeared to do so, but they did not. Second, all these extra templates like ones for blanking and testing and adding nonsense are completely unnecessary. If a vandal blanks a page and recieves a warning telling them to stop vandalising, do you really think they are going to go "oh, well you didn't identify the specific type of vandalism, therefore I'm not going to stop"? Do you think if someone then leaves a no-blanking template they're going to go "oh, that's what I was doing, I'll stop now"? Please, think about this – Gurch 03:18, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- You have a point there, although I'm also thinking about types of harmful edits that are not vandalism, but still revert-on-sight - such as personal attacks and spam. - Stephanie Daugherty (Triona) - Talk - Comment - 03:21, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- Personal attacks are intentionally unconstructive, and therefore vandalism. It is already possible to issue warnings for spam – Gurch 03:40, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Triona (talk) 10:10, 24 January 2008 (UTC) United Irish
The tithe laws were not a part of the Penal laws, but went back to 1172. Abolishing them was on the UI agenda, and indeed on Grattan's agenda, as he failed to reform them in the 1780s.
Your edit suggests that the UI might have been in favour of tithes. In fact the UI wanted to finance a new republic by selling church lands or issuing bonds backed by church lands, as had happened in France. Do you want to revert your edit or do you want me to add a reference?86.42.202.0 (talk) 13:43, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Undoing page blanking
A word of advice: when a page has been blanked, that is usually vandalism, and then it is a good thing to undo the blanking; but you need to check the history, because sometimes, as with Fortune high-tech marketing, the page has been blanked by its own author. In that case, the thing to do is to add a {{db-author}} tag, which asks for a speedy-delete G7 "author requests deletion or has blanked the page". Regards, JohnCD (talk) 15:47, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] About your choice to withdraw your candidacy for Adminship
I want to commend you first for applying for the mop. You do seem to be serious about the pedia, someone whose contributions can be counted on to be positive and thoughtful. So I encourage you to pursue your course. You should find a coach, and keep plugging. Adminship is less likely to be dispensed to someone who hasn't contributed consistently, or paid some dues. So put together three months like the last one and (if you survive) I might nominate you myself, if someone else hasn't done so. Your choice to withdraw likely caused you some pain. IMHO, I thought withdrawing was a classy choice, which shows high regard for community support. A tiny bit courageous, on your part. Best wishes, and if you ever need help, you got my link. - Triona, I'd like you to know that even though I weakly opposed your RfA this time, I think you're doing a lot of valuable work and I'm sure you know a lot of things about how to do RC patrol that I don't know. I'm particularly impressed that you started the Cancelbot article: that's quite an important topic. I hope you're not too discouraged by this RfA thing and that you continue to enjoy editing. Note that I'm not an admin either, and I make mistakes too: just yesterday (UTC) I posted a bunch of welcome templates and forgot to sign them. Might even have forgotten to subst some of them. If you can forgive me for my vote far enough to answer a question for me, and if you know, I wonder if you'd be willing to tell me whether there's a template that looks pretty much like the {{welcome}} template but is specifically designed for anonymous users, i.e. suggests getting an account. Replying here is fine. --Coppertwig (talk) 00:25, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Triona seriously doesn't need a coach. What kinda articles do you like working on? Let's fix up or create one or two, and then re-apply? --Kim Bruning (talk) 22:29, 8 February 2008 (UTC) though why do you want the demotion? :-P

I was wondering if you would add the category [[Category:Wikipedians who use Huggle]] to your user page so that it fills out and we know who actually uses huggle. If you do not want to you do not have to. I am also sorry if i have already talked to you about this or you no longer use huggle but i sent it to everyone that has edited the page since mid January. [edit] regarding "vandalizing" wikipedia...
Hi, Sorry, I have no idea of what you are talking about. I am a behavioural neuroscientist in a psychology department, but certainly would never comment on an article on insomnia (not my area of research). It is probably a case of shared IP address (wireless users in our department). And besides, I have my own user name. The only reason why I would comment on insomnia (and I honestly do not remember doing so) is if there was any obvious false information on the neuroscience of the disorder (neurotransmitters, hormones?).
