Wikipedia:Meetup/Philadelphia 7

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The seventh Philly Wikipedia Meetup will happen sometime this July to August. It is hosted by WikiProject Philadelphia. This will keep with our stated goal of having one of these events every three to four months. This poll will be open until [Date uncertain].

Please list your name below your preferred date. If you want to help find one date that works for almost everyone, please list all the dates you could attend.

Nothing about this meetup has been decided yet, and no one is necessarily 'in charge'. If you happened across this page, and you want to be notified when we start to plan it, add your name to the invite list. If you are motivated and you want to start to organize this meetup, feel free.

  • Would like to make note, for those who hadnt really thought of it. August 31st would be a Labor Day weekend, so we probably would want to avoid that one, as there will probably be some of us that will be out with family or such for the weekend (I have a couple of ballgames that weekend myself). • I'd like to recommend Marra's, an Italian restaurant that's been serving South Philadelphia for about 80 years. Their pizza is the best I've ever had.--TexasDex 14:36, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
  • I believe that we said after the last meeting that we might try to have a business meeting before going out for food. Is that still the plan? If so, I would suggest a room at Drexel since many of us have connections there. In terms of food, I'd be up for anything.--Mblumber (talk) 00:52, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
  • Why are the dates so late? I would think we'd be due for another meetup by June. As for location, I think I can book meeting space at Crossroads Coffee Shop in Roxborough, which combines free WiFi and available food. —CComMack (tc) 02:54, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
  • TexasDex: If it's pizza you're hankering for, you owe it to yourself to check out Tacconelli's in Port Richmond. Even better than Marra's, IMO. It wouldn't work for a Wikipedia meetup, though, as we would have to get a precise headcount the morning of the meetup and then phone Tacc's to reserve enough crusts. [edit] Invite list

This is pretty much the invite list used for the last meetup. It was not compiled in any really systematic way and is certainly not a complete list of users from this region. It would probably be worthwhile to attempt to expand it. Can you take on this challenge?? Add my name to the list of invitees
