[edit] Adoption
Hello, Thereen! I see that you have expressed an interest in being adopted by an experienced editor. I accept your request, being an experienced editor myself. Whether you want to learn about wiki markup, find something to do, or just talk to somebody, I'm the one you can talk to - just leave a message on my talk page. Good luck with Wikipedia! --Daniel Olsen 07:06, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Thank you
The code you're looking for is {{cn}} or {{fact}}, both of which add [citation needed] to the article. --Daniel Olsen 07:19, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 16:27, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wikiproject - Musicians: James Blunt tag
Hi there - Saw you had added classifications to the Wikiproject tag on the James Blunt talk page. Thanks for your input. Would you have any suggestions on what additions (or deletions) would help this article? It's one I watch regularly (usually only with minor edits, though), and would be interested in improving it, with a little guidance on what direction would be most beneficial. Sadly, the article attracts a fair amount of vandalism and junky external links. Risker 07:09, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia Week
The best existing proposal I can, in my own limited way, think of for the previously discussed "appreciation week" can now be found at User talk:Badbilltucker/Appreciation Week#Wikipedia Week. Any comments or responses would be more than welcome. Badbilltucker 15:07, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] World's Smallest Political Quiz userbox
You may be interested in User:Audacity/Userboxes/WSPQ, which is a replacement for the old Political Chart userbox. The new userbox takes the two variables (economic and personal freedom), calculates which political alignment they place you into (Statist, Libertarian, Liberal, Centrist, or Conservative), and links your userpage to the appropriate category.
Please reply to User talk:Audacity, as I will not be watching your talk page. Λυδαcιτγ 07:48, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] WikiProject: Biography Assessment Drive
Hi. You had commented in January about the need to clear some of the backlog on WP:Bio assessments. I wanted to let you know that we have created an assessment drive, and we'd love to have you help out if you get the chance.Mocko13 02:23, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Assessment from an article page
Outriggr recently designed a script that will cut you biography assessment time down by about ten fold (what took ten hours now may only take one hour with Outriggr's script). Please see the 'assessment from article page' discussion. -- Jreferee 20:01, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Last push for the Biography Assessment Drive
We've done great work so far on the WikiProject Biography Spring 2007 Assessment Drive, reducing the 135,345 backlog by 38,626 to 96,719 as of March 20, 2007. We have only 6,720 more to go to get below 90,000. That would be outstanding and any extra effort that you can offer in these last few days of the drive (which ends March 24, 2007) would be much appreciated. If you haven't already, you may want to load Outriggr's assessment script in your monobook.js. If you have any questions, please feel free to post them on my talk page. -- Jreferee 23:21, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] WPBiography listas flag
Hi Thereen, when assessing articles, please note that the assessment script tends to auto-fill in listas with wrong values when the page title consists of two words with one of them in brackets, e.g. Traffic (band). In that case, the output was "listas=(band), Traffic" which messes the category sorting for the talk page up ... Best regards, BNutzer 23:21, 24 March 2007 (UTC) (leaving for a vacation week tomorrow :)

[edit] Images in userboxes
Hey. I noticed this userbox too. It looks great, but fair use images are not allowed outside main namespace, so you should replace the images with free ones (see WP:FU#Policy). Thanks, Prolog 18:52, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

Glad I could help! :-) It was only after I had found the source that I noticed it had been used on the Leah Miller page already lol.

Thank you for the comment.
You (very rashly!) say: I'd be happy to assist in wikification and cleanup, or anything else really, where ever possible. Especially if it helps the quality of lesser touched upon subjects. Just point me in the right direction :)
Japanese photographers aren't as poorly represented in en:WP as are, say, Estonian photographers, but they're poorly represented. The closest to a single recent compact pantheon of Japanese photographers is Iwanami's series Nihon no Shashinka (1997-9). 20th Century (Zenhan) Art kindly typed in the titles of the forty volumes:
- 1. UENO Hikoma (1838-1904) and photographers of the Bakumatsu (上野彦馬と幕末の写真家たち)
- 2. TAMOTO Kenzō (1832-1907) and photographers of the Meiji period (田本研造と明治の写真家たち)
- 3. FUKUHARA Shinzō (1883-1948) and Rosō Fukuhara (1892-1946) (福原信三と福原路草)
- 4. NOJIMA Yasuzō (1889-1964) (野島康三)
- 5. TAKAYAMA Masataka (1895-1981) and Taishō pictorialism (高山正隆と大正ピクトリアリズム)
- 6. FUCHIKAMI Hakuyō (1889-1960) and Manshū Shashin Sakka Kyokai (淵上白陽と満洲写真作家協会)
- 7. NAKAYAMA Iwata (1895-1949) (中山岩太)
- 8. KIMURA Ihee (1901-1974) (木村伊兵衛)

Even among the blue links, there are some major disappointments (notably vol. 10, Irie, a substub). And the only really good article is that on the first, Ueno.
Right then, how about joining me in turning all those red links blue? Get your school library to buy Anne Wilkes Tucker, et al., The History of Japanese Photography (Yale University Press, 2003; ISBN 0-300-09925-8), and dig in!
Yes, I know, that sounds scary. Well, choose any one of these. -- Hoary 09:37, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
Oh my, what have I gotten myself into. I'll definitely get to my local library and get the book ordered. In the mean time I will definitely work at cleaning these articles up. --Thereen 09:46, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- Splendid, splendid!
- I already have the book, and I have enough materials to write something beyond a stub on most of these, and to write quite a bit more than that about half a dozen or so.
- [deep breath]
- I'll start work on the brothers Fukuhara (vol 3). I'll do this on my own hard drive, and only when the content is checked will upload it anywhere here. -- Hoary 12:43, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Krišjānis Barons
Hi, I noted that you claimed that it was copyvio in your edit summary, I think you are wrong - this text originaly comes from lfk.lv author of which, as said on talk page, alowed to use it on Wikipedia, the text you found is only a bit different from that of lfk.lv, except for the first paragraph, which is strangely same as in Wikipedia - have you concidered that it might in fact be from Wikipedia not vice versa ? Could you please look in original reference you removed and restore it where appropriate ? ---- Xil/talk 10:05, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of Salt Spring Coffee Co.
A tag has been placed on Salt Spring Coffee Co. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Thereen, i bet you could make saltspringcoffee notable enough to keep, isnt it one of the first carbon free coffee shops, isnt it a great sucess with articles in newspapers and a full spread recently in Aqua, not to mention a cool place to hang out. i woudl be happy to make some comments, but i just dont have the time, knowledge of company or wiki ability to save it.Flymebc (talk) 03:56, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
