How does my page keep getting deleted? I am providing information, I am employed by the company that I'm trying to write about! How can we work this out? Please advise. Thanks!--Thmhar3 07:06, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Personal Computer Market Share: 1975-2004

I had just created this article and within 20 seconds of creation you deleted it. I would appreciate some critique of this attempt to include some important data to computer history on Wikipedia before deletion outright. Again with the deletion. Please leave this stub so that I can get the contributor to help me work on this article. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Alatari (talkcontribs).

No content understood

I will continue correspondence with the original article's author and if no permission to introduce his copy then hopefully will get his original sources to create the new Wiki article. Getting hard cold sales data into Wiki will help qualm the constant page sniping about who's machine was 'dominant' through the 1970's and 1980's. Alatari 13:03, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Denise Leigh

I am indeed trying to add a page about the soprano, without success, since I can not get used to the Wiki controls for some reason, plus I am abroad using a nonstandard keyboard which is not helping. Was thus experimenting (slowly) with how to use the template...Was just about to give up and create a stub.

Loosing Faith

I don't understand how my article about Graco (fluid handling) can be considered Blatant Advertising

There are many articles on Wiki about other companies that promote their business much more than I did. In fact, Some are very misleading such as Graco which is why I was inclined to contribute helpful information to the Wiki community.

Please provide some guidance to contributors instead of blatantly deleting factual informative articles.

FreeSSHd

that was pretty fast, deleting the freesshd entry I'm not saying it was a significant contribution I made, and you were probably right with A7 and wikipedia rules.

On the other hand, just to make things fair, would you like to also delete

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CoreFTP

and

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Core_FTP

?

I think that the wikipedia time is either an hour fast or an hour slow.

Unless wikipedia is set in a different time zone from Scotland, I think that it's clock is wrong. I think this because last night when my Max MacMillan article was deleted, I noticed that the time it said was one hour fast compared to my computer's time and my computer is correct for my time zone. What is going on?(Lastofthewolves 10:10, 23 June 2007 (UTC))

actually wikipedias an hour slow

Is it just me, or would wikipedia be a much better place if , instead of rubbish articles being "speedily deleted" and lost forever, users worked together to help make articles "wiki-worthy". I know you all think that my articles and messages are a bit of a joke, just like everything else in my stinking life, but I would still appreciate a reply to this.(Lastofthewolves 11:25, 23 June 2007 (UTC))

WP:CSD

Yes, User:Phaedriel is one of my friends. She is not around much at the moment due to personal problems.

I do note, to be fair, that in your recent WP:RfA you made no commitment to attack the speedy backlog. It is nevertheless always there, although we sometimes get it down to manageable size. Given that we have at present something over 1,250 admins, surprisingly few seem to come to this page.

I think that what I am trying to say is that help here is always going to be most welcome, and the chance of you're ever coming and finding nothing to do is microscopically slight. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 19:41, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Glovia Services - Article Deletion

I recently had an article deleted for promotional material. I am told you are the administrator who carried out the deletion. I am a little confused as to why the article is considered promotional. ais523 said it could be related to not having any references? I was still working on the article when it was deleted so I did not have references posted and I did not even have the full article completed when it was deleted. I was actually trying to work on an infobox for the article (as I think it looks more professional) and was in the middle of trying to find financial information.

I was looking at this list, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ERP_vendors, and trying to add other companies that I have heard of to expand. I based the Glovia Services article off of another ERP Vendor http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NetSuite Again if the article seemed promotional it was not my intent. Please advise as to next steps. Thank you Oshburg 14:30, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for the quick reply. I will add the sources and resubmit all at once when ready. I am somewhat new so I used this article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NetSuite)from a current ERP vendor as a basis for my writing up the article on Glovia Services. Is this the proper format for writing up such an article or should I be looking for more sources as you stated before?

Oshburg 16:17, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Your right the features was probably a little too promotional. I will look to expand on the history for the Glovia Services page. Maybe with some thorough searching I can find their officers, board members or other interesting info. And thank you for taking the time to explain everything. As a relatively new editor it makes more sense to have something explained rather than see your article delted and not really know why. I know I should probably have read all the guidelines, but there are a lot of guidelines out there. Thanks Again Oshburg 16:59, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Thank you so much! :)

Thank you for all that you have done!

Thank you so much, dear friend! :)

Message from Rma0083

Hi,

I've trieed twice now to create an article on the musical group white hot knife but they have both been deleted even though I used redirects to 2 other pages where the band is referenced. Do these redirects not assert significance?

~~Rma0083~~

No, they don't assert significance I'm afraid. Your article needs to comply with WP:BAND to prevent it being deleted. So, in short, you need to add verifiable reliable sources to your article which result in its compliance with WP:BAND. Then, no worries. The Rambling Man 19:40, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Deleted ORSYP article

In the spirit of constructive discussion, please respond to my comments. It's hard to get a handle on how Wikipedia works when the administrators keep deleting without providing any feedback. Thanks!
carimarie

I would argue that ORSYP is a notable company according to Wikipedia Guidelines.

1. Primary criterion, as defined in the wiki guidelines, is whether or not the company has been the subject of secondary sources.
Orsyp has been the subject of published studies by major IT industry research groups such as Bloor Research (cited in the article I wrote); Aberdeen Group (cited in the article I wrote); Gartner Research (ORSYP was both included in a group study of industry leaders, cited in the article I wrote, and a dedicated single study, not cited in the article I wrote). ORSYP has also been written about in a multitude of journals, newspapers and websites.

2. The scope of ORSYP's activities are international in scale, and their software is widely used in large international organizations- such as telecommunications, banking, etc.

Job scheduling is not very glamorous, but it is fundamental to the way technology works in the companies that make possible cell phones and online banking, etc.
Job scheduling is the subject of a wikipedia article, and the leading companies who make job schedulers, ORSYP included, are cited. Should ORSYP be such a significant reference, WIKI readers should be able to access unbiased information about the company.

One of the reasons that ORSYP is an important job scheduling reference in the philosophical debates about job schedulers is their longtime place at the head of a unique stance (increasingly lauded by both analysts and clients) on architecture and workload distribution. I planned to expand upon this point in an article about Dollar Universe, their software (also cited in the WIKI "job scheduling" article), of which the ORYSP article is a sort of informative sub article.
Nonetheless, ORSYP is a major international IT company and as such is of general interest.

Polama

Just now, I posted an article( a stub) and as per rules, I contested its deletion. I gave my reasons on the talk page. All this took hardly few minutes. Lo and behold! My page has been deleted. What is the point in formulating procedures when they are barely followed? Deletion does not take time; creation does. Polama 07:38, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Stercore tauri

It would be nice to know why you think the redirect stercore tauri --> bullshit is an "attack page". It is not; "stercore tauri" is simply Latin for "bullshit", used as a euphemism in some philosphical contexts. I will try one last time to change it back, but you should really try to investigate before you delete. --Thorsen 15:30, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

HomeAway entry

I did not get a reply to my post yesterday asking why you would not list HomeAway on wikipedia and I noticed today it was deleted for "blatant advertising." I would appreciate getting more feedback -- I looked at other entries in Wikipedia and there are many company listings with a lot more detail. I am wanting to include information about HomeAway so when other travelers are looking for information about the company before they rent, they will find some information. What else do you need me to provide for this listing to be included? Thank you for your help.

Do not restore contested prods

It is stated in the policy in the most clear-cut possible terms that a contested prod may not be restored, so please make sure you don't do it again. As a general rule, make sure you read policy before shouting about what may and may not be done. Thank you. Piccadilly 17:22, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Doesn't Assert Significance?

"Rambling Man" you seem to imply that the wiki I have tried to create "Doesn't Assert Significance" Please refrain from constantly deleting my page. I believe this page is significant to Health and Social Care researchers in the UK and the world for that matter.

--Mednm 09:02, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Understood

Rambling Man, I understand your reasons for constantly deleting my Wiki. I have read the guidelines you kindly provided me and have tried to amend my Wiki accordingly. As RDInfo is an acronym of sorts, therefore it must be seen as notable.

As for “concept is distinct from "fame", "importance", or "popularity".” This “company” is a non profit organisation providing a free service, funded entirely by the Department of Health.

I hope I understood your instructions. --Mednm 09:28, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Page on MAPIC

Hey, mister. You were very quick off the mark and deleted a page alrady that I had just started on. I was using public content from the Event organiser, and running thorugh it making it more "Vanilla" and genrally interesting, but you deleted it.

the page was MAPIC. It is an event that I (and several thousand others!) attend, and which should be of interest since it is a large, regular and useful trade-show

I am all for monitoring, but you are a bit quick wiht the old trigger finger, my man!

Regarding the page: Mapic

Please note that I have full permission and authorisation to use the content that you deleted. I posted a note about this on the pages "talk" page, as per the regulations and an email with full authorisation has been sent to the required email address with this authorisation.

Please ensure that this page is put back forthwith, as soon as you have been able to verify the above.

Thankyou

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mapic

The Mapic page again

Please note the following ...

1. I am not advertising anything. I am posting information on a TradeShow that I have attended for 5 years, and have published information that I consider to be useful information for those that visit this show.

2. I have full authorization to use the content.

If you do not like it, change it ... but to DELETE the entire article within SECONDS of it being created, on 2 erroneous (and assumed) reasons I consider to be vandalism on YOUR part!

Mapic

Well, I am not re-creating it again, so don't ban me. I am genuinely amazed by your stance here ... I dont know what your problem is, I have clearly followed all guidelines, I have no advertising agenda and I am just trying to post useful information on a Tradeshow I know well. I took the trouble to get full authorisation for the content I used and am an independent and non-partisan contributor on this topic. But if you get off on this then have a good weekend.

Mapic page

As I have told you 3 times. Authorisation in the form of an email (from the domain of the site from which the content was taken, as per the guidelines) was sent to permissions-en@wikimedia.org

I am not sure what else can be done, this would appear to be the correct procedure, and it was carried out.

The email sender can be contacted for any futher verification

Minari Weyr

I listed on Wikipedia:Protected titles/June 2007/List because you've deleted it four times in the last hour. you might want to watch it and the creator, User:Minari. If she doesn't approach you here, I'd unprotect after about 24 hours. It doesn't need to be protected indefinitely, i don't think. —Crazytales (talk) (alt) 16:37, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

27 Club redeletion

I only recreated it because it was deleted without consensus. What is the proper protocol? I need somewhere to state my case... it was deleted because an administrator didn't like our arguments against it being a neologism, but the fact is that nobody put forward ANY arguments as to why it is a neologism. They just baldly stated it. I also have new sources which should put the decision beyond doubt - it is NOT a neologism. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Caleby (talkcontribs).

Take it to WP:DRV then, stop recreating deleted material. The Rambling Man 12:05, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
Is that really the right place for my objection? I quote "Do not add your request for undeletion to this page. It will be removed without further action." Please don't expect me to know all the "correct" procedures.
I don't expect you to know the correct procedures, that's why I explained you had to take it to WP:DRV. Simple as that. And please sign your posts using the four tildes (~~~~), thanks. The Rambling Man 12:23, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

WFFFFF

STOP WARNING ME I HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More Custerwest

Hey, I don't know if you're sleeping or not, but the Battle of Washita River is being fought all over again. Several of us have been trying to use the talk page, while User:Custerwest just throws around vandalism accusations. It feels pointless to deal with the article in this way, some outside help is needed. Any suggestions? Murderbike 18:23, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Message from Thachosen189 (talk · contribs)

Rambling man... please send me a message/comment and tell me how i can put a bio about an upcoming musician without violating your precious "rules and regulations" I need to know ASAP. thanks

Would u be at all interested in making a page of an upcoming hip hop artist named MerCee? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Thachosen189 (talkcontribs).

I believe the artist that i'm tryin to add an article about passes a few of those criterias. The main one is that MerCee has been featured in magazines such as The Source and Remix. If you google MerCee "Snapper" you will find almost 10 full pages of different radio charts and record pool charts his recently released single has been on.

Can i have your e-mail address? I will send you some stuff that might help you decide whether MerCee is notable or not

The thing i wanted to send u is a downloadable link to show you a picture of a verizon wireless ringtone thing of about 10 artists who they think will be the hottest indie ringtones of the year. Featuring big named artist such as Trina and others... including MerCee.

Did you check the URL i sent you? I don't want to make a full article again and then have it deleted by another user other then yourself

what do u mean it hasn't arrived yet? I need your actual e-mail because i can't send a downloadable link through wikipedia.

ok i did a rough draft of the article i want to add in the sand box. now what do i do?

Please let me know what i should do after creating a sandbox article, which i did

Please let me know now how the article is. Thanks

Ok fixed it, let me know if anything else needs to be changed —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Thachosen189 (talkcontribs).

My RfA

Thank you for participating in my RfA. It was successful, and I am now, may God have mercy on us all, an administrator. Look at all the new buttons! I had heard about 'protect,' 'block user,' and 'delete,' but no one told me about 'kill,' 'eject,' and 'purée.' I appreciate the trust the community has in me, and I'll try hard not to delete the main page or block Jimbo. -FisherQueen (Talk) 18:03, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

More from User:Thachosen189

I edited all i could find. Let me know if you find anything else —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Thachosen189 (talkcontribs).

I made some more changes to the sandbox page, but I'm not sure how to "prove" that Merc or Burn Unit Records is "notable" I'm also not sure what you mean by prove that Merc's death is factual and all that. Let me know if the page meets the criteria yet.
