[edit] Translation from it:Nisut Hekatawy I
The information in this article is largely translated from Italian Wikipedia. I've excised the last two paragraphs because they read like an advertisement - very much overflowing with praise. The article needs review by someone familiar with Kemetic reconstructionism, cited references, and incoming links from related articles. I also have left a small bit untranslated in the lead paragraph rather than translate it inaccurately: "la prescelta dagli dèi (Neteru)". The last word, dèi, was linked to Netjeru in the Italian article (which redirected to their page on Kemetic theology). I barely know any Kemetic theology, so I don't know exactly what relationship this phrase is supposed to represent. I hope someone more informed can fill in the blank. - AdelaMae (talk - contribs) 03:01, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Adela, Currently there are no third-party sources on this. Are you sure this is verifiable? --Kathryn NicDhàna ♫♦♫ 22:25, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
Re: AOL. Religion Online says Siuda was "an adviser and interfaith manager for the Spirituality Forum of America Online." I'm unsure of the importance of this position. Are they saying she was a Community Leader or something? - AdelaMae (t - c - wpn) 02:13, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- It's unclear. I don't know how it works on AOL, but when I was on Compuserve (CIS), that sort of phrasing was used for people who volunteered to moderate a message board. As AOL and CIS have merged, my hunch is AOL Community Leader Program is probably what they are referring to. --Kathryn NicDhàna ♫♦♫ 03:53, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Verification
I've gone through trying to find sources for some of the information in the article. I have gone through the Parliament of the World's Religions programs for the years Siuda states she attended and she did not play enough of a role to be featured in the program either year; if she was merely an attendee, that puts her among thousands. I also checked out the United Religions Initiative and while she may be involved, she is not one of the representatives on their council. I found a picture on a Kashi Ashram page proving an association between Siuda and Kashi, and it's evident that Mary's House is a project of Kashi Ashram, but I can't find evidence from secondary sources that Siuda works with Mary's House. I did, however, discover that she represents the House of Netjer in the World Interfaith Congress.
As to the MA, she is listed as having an MA at the WIC and other places. I found a page establishing that she was in the MA program, but it doesn't give a date of completion.
Perhaps we should merge/redirect this article to Kemetic orthodoxy? I am beginning to suspect that the original Italian article was mostly (or even only) a translation of her official biography into Italian. *sigh* - AdelaMae (t - c - wpn) 07:00, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- As this has been waiting on sourcing since Feb, I also support a redirect/merge. - Kathryn NicDhàna ♫♦♫ 01:05, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not sure there really are a lot of sources available for this page aside from materials from the House of Netjer. Rev. Siuda generally stays out of the spotlight, it is my understanding, and so there's not going to be a lot of research on her that wouldn't be original. Interviewing her is possible, but she is a busy person, so any potential interviewers would likely have to be very patient. In light of maintaining Wikipedia's quality standards, it might be better to shorten the article to what *can* be cited until an interview can be obtained. I'm going to go through my sources and cite some things and perhaps tidy some wording, but for the most part there really isn't a lot of information available aside from what I've already got available. Healeyd1 (talk) 00:48, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
NOTE: You might try asking her personally. She's not at all averse to being contacted to correct totally incorrect and sycophantic junk about herself. (She also doesn't like talking about herself in the third person. Since I'd rather not write my own biography, you're more than welcome to contact me for actual information if you really want to write one. I'd recommend doing so with anybody you write a biography about if they're a) alive and b) available. Seems to make sense if you want the truth). Check the kemet.org website for an email, I'm afraid to put one here for fear I might be spidered. -- Tamara L. Siuda, 12/19/06 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.35.38.95 (talk • contribs)
- I somehow highly doubt that the above is truely Siuda. Disinclination 23:22, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

- Not sure why you doubt it, but yes, I can confirm that Rev. Siuda posted the above note (and would very much like to see the wrong stuff here corrected if people insist on a bio page at all -- for instance, she is most certainly not "the reincarnation of Horus," nor does she or anyone in her faith believe that she is). My name is Craig Schaefer, a representative of the faith, and I can be reached at revschaefer@kemet.org for verification (I get so much spam that spidering is barely a worry at this point. ;) ). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.232.175.204 (talk • contribs)

- Still nothing? I can check to see what's up, but that's unusual. Normally get a responce within a few weeks at worse (Downix (talk) 20:02, 19 March 2008 (UTC))

[edit] Master's Degree
Several edits have been made recently that changed the description of Siuda's education to state that her MA degree was obtained by "mail order". I have reverted these edits as they've occurred because they make a controversial, negative claim about a living person without citing any sources whatsoever. If the editor(s) who keep adding this claim can provide evidence from reliable sources to verify it, that's fine. In fact, reliable, impartial sources (something besides House of Netjer promo material) would be very welcome here. The article has been very difficult to source. - AdelaMae (t - c - wpn) 10:19, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- I now have a source that at least shows she got an international scholarship to do Coptic Studies at Macquarie. There's still a need for more clarity here. - AdelaMae (t - c - wpn) 14:35, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] More info?
"Her ordination as Nisut-bity took place in November 1996 in Egypt..."
Was this an honor given to her by someone or by some group, or did she apply to it to herself? I recently stumbled upon this topic and I barely know anything about it, but I'd like some definition whether or not this was a title given to someone or someone who titles herself. The SourceryForce wiki mentions the term "was crowned", so if so, by whom? Meresankh (talk) 18:37, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- According to my understanding, based off her own biography at kemet.org and through various message board conversations, the ceremonies took place durring a pilgrimage to Egypt. Accompanying Rev. Siuda were a handful of her students/priests in the fledgling Kemetic Orthodox faith. Multiple short ceremonies happened during the trip, some of which were officiated over by Rev. Schaefer (the Chief Priest of KO), and some were solitary ceremonies between Rev. Siuda and Netjer directly. One of the ceremonies (I believe the final one) did involve a formal crowning of Rev. Siuda as the Nisut-Bity.
- The ceremonies were based on a mixture of archaeological evidence, second hand evidence (such as accounts by the greeks), and the personal gnosis of Rev. Siuda. As far as I know, there is no official list of what the ceremonies were or how they took place during the pilgrimage. IanCheesman (talk) 21:57, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Notability
There seems to be one individual who believes this wiki violates the notability clauses. If someone can help me figure out how, I would be more than happy to make changes to the article to help. IanCheesman (talk) 20:18, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
