Swinburne's presence extends to campuses in numerous parts of Victoria including Hawthorn, Croydon, Prahran, Lilydale, Wantirna, and Healesville. Outside of Australia, Swinburne also has a campus in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
[edit] Hawthorn campus
Swinburne's original campus at Hawthorn is home to the University's central administration, many of its undergraduate and postgraduate programs, TAFE courses and short courses. It is also the site of many of Swinburne's research and training centres. At Hawthorn it is possible to do everything from a pre-apprenticeship to a PhD.
The campus is located seven kilometres east of the city of Melbourne , and is easily accessible by train and tram. It is situated in the heart of Hawthorn and is close to restaurants, cafes and shops. Students enjoy an extensive library, bookshop, cafeterias and sports centre. Over recent years there has been a major redevelopment of the campus, including a covered Atrium next to the library, the building of combined office/retail/residential complex Swinburne Place , significant investment in the latest learning and teaching technology and refurbishment of the multi-storey EN and BA buildings.
[edit] Prahran campus
Prahran is known as Swinburne's 'arts campus', since it houses a number of arts areas including the National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA) and the renowned Faculty of Design, which offers a range of film and television, graphic, industrial and multimedia design courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
At the TAFE level it also has graphic design, multimedia design, costume, performing arts and makeup courses.
In addition to the arts offerings, Prahran also has a range of programs in business, social sciences, and hospitality. This is one of Swinburne's dual sector campuses, meaning that it provides both TAFE and university programs. In particular, excellent pathways are available in the design area for students to articulate from TAFE to university. The campus is ideally situated in cosmopolitan and popular Prahran, with a dazzling array of clothes shops, bars, restaurants and other retail outlets located along the adjoining Chapel Street .
[edit] Sarawak campus
The Sarawak campus is in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. It offers the same courses as the Australian campuses and the degrees offered are identical to the Australian ones.
