[edit] Thanks for the Barnstar!
That's really cool of you - first I've ever got. That cheered me up after failing my RfA. :)
[edit] Englefield Green
Not sure of the picture move...most other good town pages have a tidy box with a map as the top photo e.g. Woking. DO you strongly feel your move makes it better? I think it is nice when all Surrey towns are similar - seems encyclopedic. Obina 22:58, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- Only 2 of these Template:SE England have a photo. Most are the same - that is, they start with the map reference. I think this helps newcomers. But I'm Ok to give it a try with a photo at the top - I'll try to edit Englefield Green a bit see if I can get it better still. Could be a lot of work for us to convert all of Surrey! Obina 20:34, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
- Look at Aylesbury Vale. This is nice with a map at right and horizontal picture below intro. Do you like this?Obina 20:36, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Notable people
I undid your revision because it seemed that the notable people were all notable except for the 'university student'. Only Thomas Wall is without his own Wikipedia article. But 'Wall's sausages' are very well known. SteveRamone (talk) 17:48, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Sutherland went to school in Epsom, but also attended a prep school in Sutton.

[edit] National trails
Hi again, Suzanne: "UK National Trail" is a specific designation for only 15 paths in England and Wales - see National Trails (United Kingdom). The Scottish equivalent are Long Distance Routes. Other paths don't have a "designation" to put in the infobox. Well done for sorting out Fen Rivers Way - I gave the "The..." page a defaultsort so it filed right while I was looking at misfiles in Category:Long-distance footpaths in the United Kingdom, wondered about Moving it to change title, never occured to me there was another page for it already! PamD (talk) 22:37, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] links to categories
Hi Suzanne, I've just discovered that my talk page had got Category:Long-distance footpaths in the United Kingdom at the bottom, and realised why: you'd mentioned it in a message. If you need to talk about a category and provide a link to it, you can do so by adding ":" at the beginning, as I've done in this (ie I typed [[:Category:Long-distance footpaths in the United Kingdom]]. The link goes to the Category OK, but the page it's in doesn't get categorised. WikiPedia is a whole long learning experience... I keep discovering new things! PamD (talk) 22:26, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Godstone
I have added my two sources for the updates I added to the Godstone entry. My source for the "Godstone Geography" section was one book, which I cherry picked information from, and for "The Enterdent" where you specifically requested a source I have quoted a newspaper article I used for the majority of my information. The remaining information is sourced from local knowledge and neighbours.
I hope I have referenced these correctly - as a novice wikipedian I wasn't very sure about how ro go about adding references.(Helmdog (talk) 20:56, 2 January 2008 (UTC))
[edit] Tilford / Farnham photos.
Hi SuzanneKn, many thanks for your comments - nice to get a positive feedback for one of my contributions rather than the usual anonymous negativity from some others! Weydonian (talk) 23:25, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Farnham
Hi Suzanne, I've been working on some major changes for the Farnham article - a reordering into a more logical format, and addition of historic and geographic content. I would like to ask your opinion on it before "going live" but, in the meantime, notice you have been doing some work on the same article. BTW just to reassure you on my qualification for this, I have lived in Farnham for 55 years (my family having lived in the town for some 500 years continuously!) and have a collection of some 50 local reference works. Part of my career has been as a technical writer. Rather than duplicate effort, would you mind "holding fire" on this one for a few days, please? Also, just a query, but is prose really more appropriate than a list for the famous people? Is this a Wikipolicy or personal preference? Many thanks, Weydonian (talk) 10:18, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- thanks Suzanne, for your response. I'll contact you in a few days when I think it's ready for comment. BTW have you any thoughts re my query about list v prose for what is actually a number of unrelated people?! Regards Weydonian (talk) 18:51, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Aldershot
Thanks for the barnstar. Are you a Farnham local? I grew up in that area. I have fond memories of catching tiddlers at Gostry Meadow. David D. (Talk) 18:39, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks
Hi Suzanne - thanks for the appreciation on Ember. You may note I did Island Barn as well - also Hogsmill some time ago. Glad you picked up those Walton edits - they started quite sensible and then went completely mad. Regards Motmit (talk) 18:53, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Farnham
Hi Suzanne, thanks for the encouragement. I've got a few more photos I plan to put on at some time but I don't want to overdo it. I also plan to expand the more recent history. Mike Weydonian (talk) 17:14, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Chichester (district)
As I said in my note suggesting the merger, it is most unusual to separate the list of parishes like this one. Compare Horsham and Mid Sussex, both of which retain the list; and in particular the three East Sussex districts of Lewes (district), Rother and Wealden The latter are being built up to article length, with much more information than the West Sussex articles - and have two lists! We have to be logical about this: if we leave them as they are, what else can we say on the separate parish list?
Incidentally, I note you are heavily involved in Surrey: I have had a look at Mole Valley, one of its constituents, and see that that article retains the list! Peter Shearan (talk) 05:29, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
