Stuart Richardson (born August 15, 1973, in Llwynapia Hospital,Tonypandy, Wales) is the bassist for the Welsh rock band Lostprophets. He is an only child. His mother worked in a butchers shop, bar and doctors office, and his dad was a miner.

He says his early obsession with music was David Bowie. He was bullied at school, "I was wearing the thickest glasses and I had a set of braces on my teeth..". He bought his first bass guitar when he turned 15, with £100 he earned from a paper round and cleaning a bakery.

He replaced Mike Lewis as bassist in Lostprophets after the latter switched to guitar, joining them in 1999, just before they recorded their third demo. Richardson got married before the band recorded Liberation Transmission to his wife Marisa Laudadio. Marisa and Stu had a wedding cupcake cake with Han Solo and Princess Leia as figurings. Marisa gave birth to their first child, Cada Richardson on November 2, 2006. He was the first of the Prophets to move to the USA for good, and some of the other members are considering a similar move.

Currently, Stuart is in Mates Studios located in Los Angeles, CA alongside Lostprophets band mate Mike Lewis as they produce the new record for fellow welsh band Attack! Attack!.
