[edit] The Scooby Doo Connection

The Strontium Dog series contains a number of subtle references to the Hanna Barbera cartoon character Scooby Doo. The SD badges worn by Johnny Alpha and the other Search and Destroy agents are essentially identical to the dog tag worn by Scooby Doo. Another subtle connection is that the one non-mutant Strontium Dog, Wulf Sternhammer the Viking, is, just like Scooby Doo, a Great Dane.
