Steve Smith (born April 4, 1963 in Trenton, Ontario) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player in the National Hockey League (NHL).

Smith was drafted 16th overall in the 1st round of 1981 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers, from the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Smith also played junior ice hockey in the 1980 Memorial Cup with the Peterborough Petes.
He played most of his professional career in the minors but did play parts of 5 seasons in the NHL. He played for the Flyers (1984–85 to 1986–87) and the Buffalo Sabres (1988–89). During those 4 seasons, he played 17 games managing no goals and one assist for one point and 15 penalty minutes. Smith never played in the NHL playoffs.
