Steve Kettering is the Iowa State Senator from the 26th District. He has served in the Iowa Senate since 2003, when he won a special election to fill the vacancy left after Steve King was elected to Iowa's 5th congressional district. [1]
Kettering currently serves on several committees in the Iowa Senate - the Commerce committee; the Labor and Business Relations committee; the Natural Resources and Environment committee; the State Government committee; and the Appropriations committee, where he is the ranking member. He also serves as the ranking member on the Economic Development Appropriations Subcommittee. His prior political experience includes serving as a representative in the Iowa House from 1998-2002.
Kettering was re-elected in 2004 with 19,458 votes, unopposed. [2]
