The Spirit of Houston, also known as the Cougar Marching Band or a combination of the two names, is the marching band of the University of Houston. The band is directed by David Bertman. The band consists of more than 300 students, about half of which are non-music majors. The Cougar Marching Band was featured in the Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show.
