South Dakota Avenue is a major thoroughfare in Northeast Washington, D.C. It traverses through Wards 4 and 5. It begins at Riggs Road and terminates at New York Avenue in the Fort Lincoln/Ivy City neighborhood.
A short non-contiguous section of South Dakota Avenue extends off New Hampshire Avenue ending at a cul-de-sac. This segment lies northwest of the main route.
