Nebraska Avenue is a key thoroughfare in northwest Washington. It starts up in the Chevy Chase neighborhood of DC at Oregon Avenue and then passes across Utah Avenue, Military Road, and then Nevada Avenue. Soon after it crosses Connecticut Avenue and then passes through Reno Road. It next enters Tenley Circle, where it passes Wisconsin Avenue, in the Tenleytown neighborhood. Ward Circle is next, where it crosses Massachusetts Avenue. On the right is American University. After passing New Mexico Avenue, Nebraska Avenue stops at Foxhall Road before it changes its name to Loughboro Road.
There is a small cul-de-sac section down by MacArthur Boulevard that does not connect to the main road.
