[edit] Club career

Jokanović started playing at FK Novi Sad and he later moved to Vojvodina Novi Sad which won the Yugoslavian National League in 1988-89. In 1990 Jokanovic joined Belgrade side FK Partizan. With them, he won the Yugoslavian League in 1992-93 and the Yugoslavian Cup in 1991-92. After his success in Partizan he joined Real Oviedo. Following his move from Asturias in 1995, Jokanovic was an integral part of CD Tenerife's rise in La Liga.

His career path brought him to the English Premiership in October 2000, where he joined Chelsea F.C. for £1.7m from the then Spanish champions Deportivo La Coruña. He hung up his boots in Segunda División side Ciudad de Murcia.

He is married with three children, and was living in Madrid when he joined, in September 2007, the technical staff of third division team Club Atlético de Pinto. However, three months later, he became the head coach of Partizan, replacing Miroslav Djukic, who left to take the reins of the national side.

[edit] International career

He represented FR Yugoslavia 64 times during an 11-year span, and made its final squads for 1998 FIFA World Cup and Euro 2000, where he was sent off against Spain.

[edit] Management career

He became manager of his former team FK Partizan Belgrade in mid-season 2007/08 after the team's former coach Miroslav Đukić became manager of Serbia. In may 2008 under Jokanović's management Partizan had won "double crown" by winning both national trophies - league and cup.
