The channel's schedule is mostly travel and lifestyle content throughout the day with a prime time line-up relying heavily on BSkyB exclusive licensed content previously shown on Sky One, with delays of between 12 and 18 months. (A notable exception to this delay is the show Standoff which has premiered on the channel after it was axed from Sky One due to low ratings.) This effectively makes Sky Three the showcase channel for Sky's subscription services. Sky Three shows popular Sky One programmes like Futurama, Cold Case, Bones (it has a best of Bones slot which airs on Fridays), Mile High and Brainiac: Science Abuse during the evening and at night. Sometimes it features mini series eg. Hallmark's Mysterious Island and Documentaries such as The Real Shilpa Shetty. Sky Three viewers have yet to see 24 season 5, season 3 of Las Vegas and Season 2 of Bones. Likewise, the first season of Battlestar Galactica was repeated on Sky Three several months after Sky One showed it, but no further episodes of it have been seen on Sky Three or any other non-subscription channel.

[edit] Movies

Sky Three, has previously shown older movies from Sky Movies (examples being Project: Alf and In the Line of Duty and Ice), but these have since been removed. Sky Three also shows Sky Movies News and Sky Movies Premier, a look at the latest films and upcoming films on Sky Movies Premiere.

[edit] Sports

Sky Sports content such as Fifa Futbol Mundial and Soccer AM's All-Sports Show sometimes also feature. It is usually repeated a couple of days later from Sky Sports. The channel from time to time airs Chartity matches, an example being the Alan Ball memorial Cup. Usually reality sports shows from Sky One have a follow up show on Sky Three.

[edit] Sky Travel

Sky Three also features many of the popular shows from Sky Travel including programmes such as Sky Travel Shop, Call Me A Cabbie, The Tube, Airline and Luton Airport . Sky Three's line up throughout the day relys heavily on these types of programming.

[edit] Sky One acquisitions from free channels

Recently Sky One has splashed out on getting the rights to popular shows like 24, Prison Break and Lost, where the terrestrial broadcasters (in this case BBC Two, Channel 4 and Five) thought it was too expensive to keep with regard to viewing figures. It is unknown whether these will air on Sky Three, however it is believed Sky Three will air Lost at some point in the future.
