"Sing a Song of Praise to the Motherland" (traditional Chinese: 歌唱祖國; simplified Chinese: 歌唱祖国; pinyin: Gēchàng Zǔguǒ) is a famous patriotic song of the People's Republic of China, written and music composed by Wang Xin(Chinese: 王莘; pinyin: Wáng Xīn) at the beginning period of time the founding of the People's Republic of China around (1949-1951).

When Mao Zedong declared the founding of the People's Republic of China under a sea of fluttering Five-Starred Red Flags on 1st October 1949, he said, "From now on, all the Chinese will be standing tall!". This is an inspiring moment for many of the patriotic Chinese people and such a moment of inspiration last for a long time. Wang Xin wrote this song shortly after seeing the the sea of fluttering Five-Starred Red Flags again during the preparation for the first anniversary then in October 1950. The song's lyrics and its music composition were officially published on 15th September 1951 on the Peoples' Daily.
