[edit] Welcome
Welcome Liamshaw. Maybe you could have a look Wikipedia talk:WikiProject The Beatles? We need more people like you. You can also get a free newsletter every month. (Whoopee!) We're a funny lot on The Fabs pages, and you will be very welcome. (Your sense of humour will be greatly appreciated, BTW). andreasegde 17:02, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Changing your user name
No, changing user names is quite acceptable. Have a look at this page Wikipedia:Changing username for instructions. Regards LittleOldMe 17:06, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the help. Liamshaw 22:04, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Top Gear
I just saw your comment about The Stig. I was looking at your edit history to see if the "powers that be" would suggest that you create a new account instead of allowing the name change. It appears that you have sufficient edit history to make this suggestion unlikely.
Anyway, back to Top Gear. I thoroughly enjoyed last night's show, I was almost rolling on the floor with laughter! We have an American friend staying with us for a few weeks. Despite her protestations about Yank bashing, she still thought it was hilarious. I try never to miss an episode. I hope you enjoyed it as much! Cheers LittleOldMe 17:16, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, it was excellent, although sometimes even I, the perennial sceptic, am left in bemusement at the hilarious coincidences which ALWAYS crop up on Top Gear week in, week out. The Yank bashing was good yough! Liamshaw 22:04, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

- You, Sir, are from Northern England. Your humour is excellent, your writing style is very intelligent, and your use of the phrase "Okey-dokey" gives the game away. Nice to have you with us on THE Beatles pages, BTW. :) The bloke with the girl's name, courtesy of Crestville. 22:26, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

- And you, Sir, are too kind. Many thanks for your welcoming, humourous, and helpful nature, even if you did just create an edit conflict with me, which you inevitably won. Gnashing of teeth on my part. No worries mate! embarrassed northerner(or not?) 22:37, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Changing 'Trivia' word
Brilliant idea, me old mucker. "What? You mean people actually work on articles? I'm shocked to me very foundations..." :)) andreasegde 15:44, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] hey!
You are good! Stick with t/The Beatles Project, and the subbing of stupid names in your talkpage sigs; you may never be made an Admin, but you will have great fun not getting there (not true, as one of the fun pranksters is an Admin (not one you've met, as far as I know).) Oh, and welcome! LessHeard vanU 00:40, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Mal Evans
Because everything in the Lead should also be from the article. The Lead is a short summary (in three paragraphs) that gives a reflection of the whole thing. Anything that is in the Lead that is not in the article is frowned upon by 'The powers that be'. You are right though, the Lead should be paraphrased so as to make it more interesting, but I'm just filling in the gaps before polishing. If you want to change it, then please, please do. It would save me doing it, and it would mean that two editors are working on it, which would be most welcome... :) ThE bEaTLeS aka andreasegde 20:23, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- No problem. Do whatever you think is right. ThE bEaTLeS aka andreasegde 17:31, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Citation on Ringo
Thanks for putting Zak's daughter's name in the Ringo Starr article, and especially for doing so with a citation. other than a few dedicated people working on the most important Beatle-related articles, it sometimes seems I'm all alone out here trying to add citations. Glad to see someone else in the boat. John Cardinal 02:27, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject The Beatles Newsletter |
|
|
See below. There is genuine concern that the Newsletter is getting stale in terms of content and variety, and that the same individuals are featured each month. Furthermore, lack of "news" is hindering the timely distribution as the editors wait for something to report. All Project editors are encouraged to give their news, suggestions and thoughts to keep the 'Letter vital and interesting. If making direct contributions do not appeal, please give a mention on the Newsletter talkpage and it will be incorporated!
Help is needed for the job of putting future Newsletters together. The present incumbent is finding it difficult to reflect the breadth of the Project, focusing on much the same individuals and articles each month, and has decided to beg for contributions from other individuals. Interested persons need only start working on next months issue to qualify. It really is that simple! If you've just joined, add your name to the Participants section of Wikipedia:WikiProject The Beatles. You'll get a mention in the next issue of the Newsletter and get it delivered as desired. Also, please include your own promotions and awards in future issues. Don't be shy! Lastly, this is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue (Issue 012 – April 2007). Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned, or just start editing!

[edit] Wow
Shrub, thanks for the barnstar. I know it's good to get one, but I must confess I don't completely get it! Doh! I did find myself getting a little snippy towards the middle of the week, so I cut back on WP for a couple days. I've got more than enough things to keep me busy. I'll wade back in tomorrow and Sunday (US eastern). Thanks a million. — John Cardinal 04:38, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Public Eye
As I live in the United States in a rural area, I have never actually seen Public Eye. I'm sure I would find it amusing. Most holders of copyright would not bother to enforce their rights. Nevertheless, it is best not to copy extensive texts. It is enough to know that it is their opinion that we have "removed the facts". Fred Bauder 14:54, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
- We have not, just removed controversial material which is not adequately referenced. Fred Bauder 14:55, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
