This Wikipedian is feeling a lot of wiki-stress and not editing as actively as before and probably never will again.

[edit] Here's one reason why WP will never be very good

In response to a Request for Deletion for a now-deleted (of course) image, a card-carrying member of the fair use police opined:

"The subject of this image still exists and could be photographed, and that photograph could be freely licensed. Therefore this image is "replaceable", and fails the first test of our non-free content policy."

My response was (roughly) the following:

"That's utter and complete BS and a great reason why most reasonable people think that the fair use police on WP are beyond hope and redemption. Because someone is alive does not mean that a free photograph could be taken of him or her. The subject may not want to be photographed. Even if the subject might agree to be photographed, it may not be possible for a photographer who wants to produce a free-use photograph to be in the same place at the same time as is convenient/allowed by the subject.
"WP sucks in general and the fair use police are the worst blight on it, and I can't conceive a reason why I'd waste my time fighting against this particular force of (ill) nature."

The image in question was a photograph of a person taken from the dust jacket of a biography of said person.
