[edit] Page move

Does anyone know why this page was moved from Sgt. Rock to Rock (comics)? It seems unnecessary and counter-intuitive to disambiguate in this instance, unless someone knows something that I don't. I was unable to find a discussion of this move, which occurred before my time as an editor. At the moment, I am inclined to ask that it be moved back. But, I wanted to check on this first. --GentlemanGhost 22:22, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

I have been wondering the same thing, and I could not find any discussion of it either. I agree that it is entirely counter-intuitive, and support a reversion of the move. ---Charles 04:46, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
PLEASE MOVE IT BACK. Fully support, and frankly think the current page title is idiotic.Michael Dorosh 05:12, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
How about Sgt.Rock (Comics)? Jack Cain 07:24, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
I think that the parenthetical (comics) is unnecessary. Unless there's another Sgt. Rock that I don't know about. -- GentlemanGhost 09:29, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
It probably is not necessary, no. But, just to be on the safe side, we should probably include it. ---Charles 18:26, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

Moved to Sgt. Rock (comics), best to be on the safe side I feel.. -- Ipstenu (talk|contribs) 14:12, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Good work, thanks.Michael Dorosh 15:14, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
Heh. Nothing wrong with being on the safe side. Thanks a lot! --GentlemanGhost 03:46, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Justice League TV Show Appearance

There should be a mention of Sgt. Rock and Easy Company's appearance on Justice League Season One episodes "The Savage Time" Parts 2 and 3.

[edit] Sgt. Frank Rock's full name

was there a mention in Sgt. Rock: Between Hell & a Hard Place [paperback]on Frank's middle name or I imagine it?

[edit] Title

No offense but we should move it to Frank Rock because later Frank Rock became a Generel even if it was a fake one. Brian Boru is awesome 01:45, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

No - the general bit was an a) an afterthought and b) a fake. --Charlesknight 05:58, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

No, it needs to be moved to Frank rock. And I don't care what your little A and B are. Quit forcing your little opinion. You can't even spell afterthought correctly. Hungrygirl 20:49, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

The character is iconic as a sergeant, and his post-WWII usage was not done as part of the original vision of the character. I Opppose any further name changes for that reason.Michael DoroshTalk 21:19, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
  • Suggestion While I oppose a renaming of this page, a redirect page would be appropriate, from "General Frank Rock" to this page. I can understand the wisdom of doing it the other way around, since if he was a real person, he would be listed under the highest rank achieved, but since he is most commonly known as Sgt. Rock I feel it more appropriate to list him as such here; especially since the title of the comic book was also listed as such. A redirect page would be fine if someone felt there was a necessity due to people searching under that designation.Michael DoroshTalk 21:55, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Can you see me now?

I added this:

"(though the first appearance was by Bob Haney)"

based on Daniels' DC Comics. Trekphiler 10:11, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Sgtrockdoll.jpg

Image:Sgtrockdoll.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
