Serhiy Popov, born April 22, 1971, is a former footballer from Ukraine. A former Zenit St. Petersburg defender, Popov made a name under Ukrainian soccer giants, Shakhtar Donetsk, helping them in many of their successful finishes in the Ukrainian Premier League. The hard-nosed defender was also a regular member of the Ukraine national football team from 1993 to 2003, having appeared in 54 international matches (among the cap leaders for Ukraine) and notching 5 goals.
