[edit] James John Edmund Guerin
If you look at the Quebec sites (the City of Montreal and the National Assembly) they both don't have the accents. So I think his name does not have one. --YUL89YYZ (talk) 19:26, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Alexander James Adams
Please don not redirect from "Alexander James Adams" to "Heather Alexander". While he is taking over playing her songs, these 2 are separate personalities. Please create a stub-page instead that people can add to. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.193.156.225 (talk) 14:21, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Foxtons
Thanks for taking the speedy tag off. To be fair if I'd left it at the first edit it may have deserved the tag. JASpencer (talk)
- No problem. If it had been speedied as an attack page, I might not have removed it, but db-empty was definitely wrong.--uɐɔlnʌɟoʞǝɹɐs 21:02, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Dwight Armstrong
Question:
Can you please tell me what your source is for the following statement: "It was about this time that he was baptized along with his brother Herbert by the pastor of the Hinson Memorial Baptist Church in Portland, Oregon." It is not clear in Herbert Armstrong's autobiography who baptized him, so if you have a source for that statement, I would appreciate your citing it. Thanks.72.79.4.211 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 01:40, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure I didn't write that line, so I don't know why you're asking me to cite it...--uɐɔlnʌɟoʞǝɹɐs 03:34, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
It was in the Dwight Armstrong article. Did you do that article? If you did and you didn't write that line then someone inserted it. I wonder where that person got the information from becasue there is no citation.72.79.55.175 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 21:11, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Content Dispute
I could not help but notice from the page history of Tom Leykis that you are currently involved in a content dispute. I would like to humbly ask you to utilize the talk page and the various venues of dispute resolution available to us. Thanks, -MBK004 06:59, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Not nice
You alerting me that page is being up for deletion when you're the one who tagged it. That is just wrong.--Angel David (talk) 22:20, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] See again
First thank you for your ties, would you please review it: Payam Jahanmani —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ariamehr (talk • contribs) 09:06, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Did you see it? I added some references. --Ariamehr
- Yes, but those aren't really references, just external links.--uɐɔlnʌɟoʞǝɹɐs 16:44, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for review it. I think his website is reference, most of information comes from his website. About other website, those are just ke confirmation and reference for information. I counted on them as reference and those are not in relevant of Mr. Jahanmani. Also I would lik e to know, I referenced most of information, why the page is still exist on list of pages that needs additional references?--Ariamehr —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ariamehr (talk • contribs) 09:24, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your sig
The characters in your sig come represented as squares as the characters cannot be displayed in my local charset. I do not know if you see the same, just thought I'd make you aware. -- Alexf(Talk/Contribs) 17:40, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- I don't see it, but I am aware of the "problem". I'll just stick with my sig as it is for now: see Admin coaching above for what it should look like.--uɐɔlnʌɟoʞǝɹɐs 17:50, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- I see. It is a "flipped/reversed" string. Cute, but it just displays as a bunch of boxes. -- Alexf(Talk/Contribs) 18:01, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- Not if you use a real browser *gd&r*--uɐɔlnʌɟoʞǝɹɐs 19:25, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- OK, I get the point. I could not see it at work with IE 6. I see it fine, as you intended, at home with FireFox 2.0, and also with IE 7. -- Alexf(Talk/Contribs) 22:24, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- Good to know IE7 handles it properly too -- I hadn't checked. Thanks!--uɐɔlnʌɟoʞǝɹɐs 22:27, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang
We don't hide or relegate spoiler warnings - got promoted to FA and half of the lead is on about the ending of the episode. It's a moot point anyway - the episode's already aired in America. Additionally, the comment about the hologram types helps the image support the text in two ways instead of the current one. Will (talk) 19:47, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion
Hey there, I've taken the liberty of again removing the Speedy deletion template. Firstly, A1 refers to a lack of context to fails to identify the subject of the article. This is clearly not the case here. Secondly, schools are not SD'd. This is the general consensus. Questionable notability is for WP:AFD. Cheers. Wisdom89 (T / C) 01:47, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- Nevermind dude, I was confused when you said "content" instead of "context". It does fail A1. I have reinstated the SD tag. Cheers mate. Wisdom89 (T / C) 02:01, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] re: RFC/U
Had I seen more RFCs like yours I probably would not have said that "most RFC/U's came down to WP:IDONTLIKEHIM." To me what most RFCs lack is objective evidence in the form of diffs. There should be a list of applicable policies and guidelines, diffs to show the problem for each policy or guideline, diffs to show attempts to resolve the problem, and diffs to show that the attempts failed to solve the problem. (See my comments at Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Whig_3#Outside_view_by_Sbowers3 and Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Strider12#Outside_view_by_Sbowers3.)
I did not actually read through the diffs, but at least the diffs are there, so outsiders can easily evaluate the evidence. Almost more important than the diffs showing a problem is the diffs showing attempts to resolve the problem and failing to resolve. You have a good set of diffs from the other two people who tried and failed.
My only quibble is stylistic. I would have listed the policy or guideline, then listed the appropriate diffs under each one. You had a lot of prose (with embedded diffs) at the beginning and then listed the policies/guidelines. I'd have started with one policy, then listed the diffs under it with relatively little prose, then the next policy and diffs, etc. But that's just a matter of personal style. The key thing is providing objective evidence in the form of diffs.
If all RFCs provided diffs then maybe there would be more involvement by outsiders perusing the evidence, instead of a lot of piling on by editors who had a previous involvement with either the accused or the accuser(s).
(Disclaimer: I am not exactly in the upper tier of experienced editors. I'm just a guy who tries to help out here and there. I don't take myself too seriously and I hope nobody else does.) Sbowers3 (talk) 23:47, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks very much for the unbiased evaluation. I like my style of writing, but I can lead with the Policy/Diffs section and follow up with the extended commentary. If I think of it next time I get so involved with a dispute that I'm willing to put that much effort into it. :-)--uɐɔlnʌɟoʞǝɹɐs 05:04, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

I am trying a new anti vandal tool and I accidentally did something wrong and reverted wrong edits. If I didn't get all of them reverted back, I apologize. Sorry for any inconvenience. SwirlBoy39 19:00, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for understanding. I'm doing my best. Right after you said something I got a message from Scarian scolding me about this. Again, I apologize. SwirlBoy39 19:10, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Please do not delete "The Master Genealogist" article
It is taking me a while to try and build up a history of this program for an encyclopedic type article by going thru the mailing list and building up the history. Please Help me by letting me know exactly what you oppose? This program is very unique in the genealogy world in that it helps and allows the genealogist to research and collect conflicting information instead of being restricted to single events.

[edit] Speedy deletion of Image:FortKnoxPanorama.jpg
A tag has been placed on Image:FortKnoxPanorama.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I8 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name, or all references to the image on Wikipedia have been updated to point to the title used at Commons.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. uɐɔlnʌɟoʞǝɹɐs 18:27, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
