Saddle Mountain State Natural Area is a state park in northwest Oregon. It is located in the Northern Oregon Coast Range in central Clatsop County, approximately 15 miles (24 km) south-southeast of Astoria.
The park features a 2.5 mile hiking trail to the top of Saddle Mountain (elevation 3283 feet), located within the park. The park has camping sites available from March through October. A moderately fit person may hike to the summit of Saddle Mountain in 2 to 3 hours. From the peak you can see the Pacific Ocean. The winter season provides for some snow. Under these conditions, only experienced alpinists or mountaineers should attempt the steep stretch extending from the saddle to the summit.
