Romain Guessagba-Sato-Lebel, generally known as Romain Sato (born March 2, 1981, in Bimbo, Central African Republic), is a Central African professional basketball player who plays as a guard/forward for Italian top-flight power Montepaschi Siena.

Sato played at Dayton Christian High School in Dayton, Ohio, in the United States, and then graduated from Xavier University (Cincinnati) in 2004 having majored in French. He was selected by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2004 NBA Draft, but never played for the team, and was subsequently waived on February 24, 2005.

The season after playing with the Spurs, Sato was in the Italian second division[1] with Sicc Cucine Jesi. He was the league's second-leading scorer in 2005-06, averaging 25.5 points per game, and also adding 7.5 rebounds per game; in Jesi's three playoff games that season, he averaged 35 points and 14.6 rebounds. From there, he went to FC Barcelona to play in the 2006 Liga ACB playoffs.[2]

Sato returned to Italy with Montepaschi for 2006-07. In his first season in Siena, he helped Montepaschi to the scudetto (Italian championship).[3]
