[edit] Rosie O'Donnell and Donald Trump Controversy (link)
- I think it's funny that an article that so many people deem non-notable is notable for having so much argument about it. Should there be a wiki about the debate for its inculsion? ;)
- Probably. I myself am surprised at the volume of debate.
This debate and its outcome was... unfortunate. Assuming you still are interested, may I suggest creating an article in your user space, and tracking down a whack of sources to back up specific events? You should have little trouble finding a good selection from "mainstream" press. Some were helpfully provided in the AfD itself! When ready, I suggest a move to main space. It might go to AfD again, but I seriously doubt the outcome will be the same in that case. If there was anything in the original article you need, you can ask the deleting admin. Abu-Fool Danyal ibn Amir al-Makhiri 15:58, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
I'm too new to figure out how to do all this stuff. Can you just post the original article on my user page right below your message? I'll work on it from there (actually, on a copy saved to disk, of course), thus avoiding the delete/restore/delete/restore stuff until it is fully ready. Will post it back to you, then we can stick it back up when it is done. FirthFan1 22:39, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Yea, let 'er rip. We'll do a really nice job together. FirthFan1 01:19, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Editing your comments
Do not change the text of your comments. WP:TALK#Behavior that is unacceptable states
**Don't change your text: Obviously you can edit or delete your own words, while you are still composing the initial text, but afterwards, you should not do so, as this will put others' comments in a different context. Even if no one has replied, someone may still have read what you have written — so think before you speak! If you wish to amend your statement, use strike-through or a place holder to show it is a retrospective alteration. Strike-through is typed <s>like this</s> and ends up
like this.

[edit] Regarding your edits to Talk:Shawn Hornbeck
I noticed that you deleted part of your comment. Please do not do so, I know you have nothing to hide, but it appears that way with this behaviour. May I suggest you use the strikethru feature like this . Please see WP:TALK for guidance. I have restored your comment to its original form. Please strikethru to change the comment. Regards, Navou banter 03:07, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
- I noted the comment you made about not speculating about Shawn Hornbeck. I wanted to downplay the speculation about Stockholm syndrome as it could negatively affect his biography. I considered whether the meaning or interpretation of your statement would be altered by such a change and decided it wouldn't have. Sorry if you had a problem with it. - Rollo44 03:13, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
-
- I had no problem with the comment... and I understand why you did it, it makes sense. The practice however of totally deleting the comment text is bad business. You otherwise have some good comments and great edits, keep up the good work and don't be discouraged! Navou banter 03:21, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Welcome
[edit] Re: Focus
Yeah, "national security, foreign affairs, and corruption" is me alright. I'm the same way in real life, too. It ain't just a Wikipedia thing. ;)
Seriously, though, I guess I'm just one of those geeks who get excited about anything relating to espionage and geopolitical conflicts (both overt and covert). I guess that explains why I'm a Lost junkie, too! Regards, --Jayzel 04:29, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
I was reading 1996 United States campaign finance controversy. How deep and corrupt do you believe it goes? ~ Rollo44 04:39, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well, let me just say this: Henry Kissinger opened up China to the U.S., George H. W. Bush was the first U.S. emissary to the PRC and his son Neil Bush has worked directly for the son of former Chinese president Jiang Zemin. George H. W. Bush's former National Security Advisor Brent Scowcroft has worked for Kissinger at Kissinger and Associates. Bill Clinton's Energy Secretary at the time of the Cox Report's release until Clinton left office was Bill Richardson who went to work for Kissinger afterwards before running for governor of New Mexico where Los Alamos National Laboratory and our nuclear weapons secrets are located. Kissinger and Associates eventually led to Kissinger McLarty Associates, a joint venture between Kissinger and Bill Clinton's childhood friend and first White House chief of staff Mack McLarty. Many of these people have direct financial interests in the PRC and have had financial interests there for 30+ years. Put two and two together and what do you get? By the way, these connections are just the beginning. I can go on for an hour, but don't have the time. One of the most peculiar connections I found was a man named David Rothkopf. He was money man John Huang's direct supervisor at the Commerce Department. Shortly after Huang hit the scandal sheets, Rothkopf left the Commerce Department to go to work for... Yup, Kissinger. Huang and Rothkopf's supervisor was a man named Charles Meissner. He died in a plane crash in Croatia with Commerce Secretary Ron Brown.
If you have any other questions let me know. Regards, --Jayzel 01:29, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bot
Thanks. You should see the debate over this bot and category at Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2007_February_20. My objection is it's intrusive and highly inaccurate, and editors are entitled to make article-by-article decisions what their "citation-needed" policies will be. Now all of them, or virtually all of them, are labeled "February 2007". In addition, the whole thing involved an administrative override of an earlier community decision to do away with the category out of which the bot operates. Anyway, nice work recently; my compliments!. ... Kenosis 01:04, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Welcome to the Military history WikiProject!
Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, and project-wide collaboration.
- We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, periods, and conflicts.
- We've developed a variety of guidelines for article structure and content, template use, categorization, and other issues that you may find useful.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Kirill Lokshin 13:27, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Wow
Must be a bot. lol. So fast. Nice job. ~ Rollo44 16:39, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
- The speed comes from having software watching Recent Changes and picking out possible vandalism for me – but since I do the actual reverting myself, I'm not a bot :) – Qxz 16:41, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
-
- You've made a revert edit every single minute of the past 7 hours, usually something around four edits per minute. It's good work, but what is making you do this?? ~ Rollo44 17:20, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
-
-
- Only five hours and twenty minutes, actually... but yeah, I meant to stop a while back, and I didn't, so I'll stop now. Nothing in particular is making me do this (other than a lack of other useful things to do, I guess). I'll be a lot busier with other things tomorrow, though – Qxz 17:25, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RE:RE:RE: I agree with Nishkid64
I agree with you wholeheartedly, as the same idea has crossed my mind many times, but since he has edited so many times in the Wikipedia namespace, I was just trying to point out that he would have read the articles and would be familiar with policy (albeit that a vast majority of those edits were to WP:AIV). ~Steptrip 02:33, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
