A rhabdomyoma is a benign tumor of striated muscle. Cardiac rhabdomyomas occur most frequently in infants and young children and have an association with tuberous sclerosis.
It is most commonly associated with the tongue and heart, but can also occur in other locations.
The malignant form of rhabdomyoma is called rhabdomyosarcoma.
