[edit] Culture

  • Sicilian School - Need a picture of Frederic II (Holy Roman Emperor) that portrays him with his magna curia, his court. The members of the school were Frederick's notaries. Thanks. --Wikipedius 11:06, 30 July 2005 (UTC)
  • Teddy Boy (youth culture) - there is one picture on the page but maybe one or two more would be helpful.
  • Lomilomi massage needs image of techniques. --Viriditas 04:01, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
  • Genkurō, a fox (kitsune) character from the kabuki play Yoshitsune Senbon Zakura; a special kind of makeup and costuming is used to indicate his magical nature, and images of this would be wonderful. Anything else relating to individual actors, costuming, makeup, are all sorely lacking (as are the articles for them), so if anyone has access to a trove of fair use or PD images of kabuki/bunraku, I'd be most grateful. LordAmeth 16:24, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Hip hop culture - as the Slovene magazine Mladina recently noted, a picture of a Slovene hip hop dancer is probably not very representative of the subject. Therefore, I kindly request a picture of an American hip hop dancer for the article.
Uploaded one of my own shots of some impromptu "hip hop" breakdancers in San Francisco and included in the article. --shift6 16:32, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Totin' Chip -- A picture of the card and/or patch that we could use. If someone could take a pic or scan that'd be great. -- 02:24, 7 April 2007
  • Woman - There has been a debate for years on Talk:Woman over the appropriate lead image. A possible consensus seems to be developing that a new nude photo would do the trick; the current nude photo candidates are considered either too culturally specific or not unprurient enough. The basic criteria are: an unexceptional woman (in age, weight, etc - between 15-85 percentile among mature women); naked; no background; and some aspect, such as an engaged expression, that specifically tends to give the photo a non-prurient aspect. See the discussion there for details. --Homunq 00:28, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

The Latin name for mangelwurzel is Beta vulgaris, which is the same thing as ordinary beetroot. There are plenty of pictures of this plant in Wikimedia Commons. Perhaps the beetroot and mangelwurzel articles should be merged together. -- Sakurambo 桜ん坊 16:31, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

I asssume you are talking about these? http://www.usmint.gov/about_the_mint/coinLibrary/#wp Since they are work of the US Government, I can upload it, right? I'm going to email the address on their page and find out for sure. Their terms of use page make it look like there are potential issues due to the original coin designer holding the copyrights on some of the coins. Psu256 21:36, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
I received a reply from the U.S. Mint. The image of the coin is NOT in the public domain and therefore cannot be posted. Sorry about that. Psu256 16:10, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
  • LCDR Charles Swift of the US Navy. I've searched at the public domain sites suggested. I've made a request from an anon IP who appears to know the individual. If there's anything I can do to facilitate/expedite this request please contact me. R. Baley

[edit] Synagogues

[edit] Jewish culture

  • Ka-tzetnik - Would be nice to have a picture of a camp tattoo
    • perhaps "nice" isn't the best word here

[edit] Gallo-Roman religion

  • Any photographs of stone sculptures, bronze statues, terracotta figurines, cult objects or even epigraphic inscriptions relating to Gallo-Roman religion would fill a big gap. In particular, we're missing images for Lenus Mars, Intarabus, Aveta, Mercury Visucius, Mercury Cissonius, Sirona, Aerecura, Apollo Grannus... the list goes on and on. The Landesmuseum Trier will be a goldmine for this kind of stuff when it reopens at the end of this month... Other regional museums (such as at Köln, Lyon, Vienne) and not least the Louvre will also have heaps of good material. Q·L·1968 17:35, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
