[edit] Re: reverting editing
(It looks like you recently left a note on my talk page, so I decided to respond both there and here.)
Hello. It turns out that WP has rules in place about citing reliable sources (see WP:RS) for any claims made in articles. According to the history logs, the editor states that the website you refer to is a primary source of information to the article. If you are able to provide a different source that meets this requirement (which you prefer), it might be enough to replace it with the current link. I hope this helps. Cheers. --Aarktica 12:23, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Re: website
First off, arguing that X article should have something because Y article has *that something* too, is not a good argument. See: Arguments to avoid. As for the reasoning behind the removal, read: Request for editor assistance on the same issue. You can even click here to see my reasoning for the same inquiry. — Dorvaq (talk) 15:57, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- Please keep in mind, my opinion is just my opinion, it's not the final word on the matter. If other editors object to the link's inclusion, you'll have to work towards consensus with them, or if it seems you're at an impasse on the matter, request a mediator or file an article request for comment. Don't get too stressed on it, these things do happen, but if everyone stays calm and works civilly, they can and do get resolved successfully. Seraphimblade Talk to me 21:25, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of Dennis Oliver
A tag has been placed on Dennis Oliver requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit] Speedy deletion of Dennis Oliver - Again
A tag has been placed on Dennis Oliver, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Thiste (talk) 02:37, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Why I deleted Dennis Oliver
While I certainly appreciate the time and energy you put into the article, I'm afraid nothing in the article indicated why he should be considered notable by Wikipedia standards. He obviously has a resume of some professional acting experience but hasn't won any awards for it or appeared in notable films or been a major character in a notable TV show. A comment from Raul Julia about him isn't really adequate. Not every actor can have a Wikipedia page. I'm sorry but I don't see any compelling reason to reverse my agreement with the speedy deletion nomination and the deletion of the article.
Please note that I was the 2nd admin to agree to speedy delete the article. I think it's unlikely that a recreated article would survive without more information about why he is notable by Wikipedia standards. If you have any more questions, please ask on my talk page. Don't forget to sign in and also sign your message with 4 tildes (~~~~). Cheers, Pigman☿ 23:26, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- Reviewing again the article on Dennis Oliver, there is still no reason for me to undelete the article. The ACE award picture where he is part of a group of five people clearly shows the award went to Hector Luis Rivera, not to Mr Oliver. This still appears to be the closest evidence of notability in the article I deleted. Please look at Wikipedia:BIO#Entertainers for some basic criteria. While that link is to a guideline, not an absolutely rigid policy, I still doubt you will find many Wikipedians who would agree Mr Oliver is an exception to the guideline. Sorry. [edit] Dennis Oliver
I have nothing to do with this article. I nom'd it as a CSD back in January, but have had no interaction with it since. I do not know the reasons for the more recent deletion of the article (aside from what I've read on your talk page), and I do not have the authority to re-create it (nor would I, since I don't know anything about it). Sorry. Gromlakh (talk) 15:00, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sockpuppetry case
You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Justice all the way for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. Pigman☿ 17:20, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
