Qui Nhơn or Quy Nhơn pronunciation is a coastal city in the centre of Vietnam. The town has 16 wards and 5 communes with 284 km² general area. It is the capital of the Binh Dinh province and as of 1999 its population was 240,000. Historically the primary commercial activities of the city have focused around agriculture and fishing. However in recent years there has been a shift towards service industries and tourism. There is also a substantial manufacturing sector. More than 100 years ago, the town was born officially, however, town's forming and developing history goes with to 11th Century Champa culture, Tay Son dynasty and Thị Nại seaport from 18th century. Nowadays, Qui Nhon is recognized as a the second-grade city with a geography priority, a seaport, a developing city infrastructure. The government describes the city as one of the three commercial and tourism centres of the coastal southern centre region (with Da Nang and Nha Trang).
Qui Nhon has a lot of different areas, its geography landscape is very diversified such as mountains and forests, hills, fields, salt-marshes, plains, lagoons, lakes, rivers, coasts, peninsulas, and islands....Qui Nhon's coast-line is 42 km with a big lagoon area, brackish water lake and abundant sea creature resource and many of valuable specialities with high economic worth. The town's key brands include industries, trade, export-imports, seaport services, breeding and exploiting aquatic products, tourism. Qui Nhon's economic structure, at present, is moving along increasing service industry density, reducing ratio of agriculture forestry pisciculture in GDP. In 1998, building industry density is 28.4%, service is 55.58%, agriculture and forestry pisciculture is 16.02%. Developing goal of the town from now to the year 2010 is to strive for building Qui Nhon to become a seaport town in North-Southern and West-Eastern corridor; an industrial, commercial, service, international trading certer with an active role impulsing development social economy in the area.

To focus on processing export products with main fields such as aquatic and vegetable oil processing; producing consumer's goods (garment, footwear); industrial mechanical engineering (repairing ship, agriculture, processing industry); electron-informatics; chemical (medicine, rubber processing, liquid gas); processing wood; developing industry, small scale industry in the countryside; building and enhancing infrastructure for Phu Tai industrial zone development, arranging all favourable condition for the forming of Nhon Hoi Economic Zone in the city.
Developing export-import service, taking shape trade-supermarket centre and trade information centre of the city, sight-seeing tourist zone: Ghenh Rang, Phu Hoa, Phuong Mai, Thi Nai lagoon, Bai Dai... upgrading Champa cultural vestiges, coastal habitant culture, the two defensive wars vestiges, building some international standard hotels.
Strengthening the fleet of ship offshore fishing, developing logistical services for fishing, aquatic rearing, forest cultivation for protection, and forming vegetable cultivation in the outskirts for the city's consumption.

Qui Nhon is served by Phu Cat Airport with daily flights linking Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh city.
