[edit] RFAThanks so much for supporting me in the RFA. I am grateful for your response, and it really means a lot to be appreciated. Thanks again! hmwithtalk 15:06, 28 May 2007 (UTC) [edit] Heather Higgins GA reviewHey, thanks for reviewing the Heather Higgins article. [edit] My RFA[edit] Burrowing OwlI know you already supported, but User:Wsiegmund has used his software to edit the Burrowing Owl shot I took...if you care to take another peek.[1]--MONGO 05:55, 2 June 2007 (UTC) [edit] My RfA[edit] Notability of Jordan MudrackA tag has been placed on Jordan Mudrack, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Just looking at your page, you seem to me to have lost control of your password. --EarthPerson 17:25, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] My RfADear Phoenix2, thanks for your support in my recent RfA, it was, however, unsuccessful. I am not the type of editor to be disheartened by such a result, and have gained much experience. If you have anything to contribute by way of improvements or comments, please don’t hesitate to tell me. I will run again. Until then, Cheers, Dfrg.msc 08:00, 8 June 2007 (UTC) [edit] My RFA
[edit] Sammy Davis, Jr. articleHey, can you help me out with an issue I'm having with another editor. I'm new to Wikipedia and don't know the proper channels to go through, but since you're an administrator and a neutral party I thought I'd come to you. I've had a lot of issues with User:XLR8TION and at this point trying to properly reason with him would be out of the question. The article in question is Sammy Davis, Jr.. He constantly reverts my edits and labels them unconstructive. The issue in question is the ancestry of Davis' mother. Although Davis publicly stated during his lifetime that she was Puerto Rican, biographers now agree that she was in fact Cuban and that Davis lied about this to protect his career due to the unpopular sentiments of the time towards communist Cuba. This fact is stated in several books including The Life of Sammy Davis, Jr. by Gary Fishgall[2] and In Black and White: The Life of Sammy Davis, Jr. By Wil Haygoods [3]. The latter which is an award-winning book[4] that will even form the basis for the screenplay of Davis' biopic to be produced by Denzel Washington.[5] The problem is any time I try and edit the article he swoops right in and reverts it labeling me disgruntled. The fact is she wasn't Puerto Rican, she was Cuban (more proof:[6]and a TIME magazine article for good measure, [7]), I think I have provided enough information to support this fact. What I would like is to edit the article stating his Cuban ancestry as fact with a mention as why he choose to say he was Puerto Rican due to the political sensitivities of the time, and without being reverted. Thank you. 74.225.36.136 20:31, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] My RfaThank you for contributing at my recent request for adminship. A few issues were brought up there. I would like to tell you that I am not anti-gay. The creation of the userbox was for other users. If I was, I would have used the userbox within my own userspace. I do not seek to discriminate again homosexuals, bisexuals, asexuals, blacks, whites, Christians, Muslims, and so on. It makes no difference here at Wikipedia, just as long as the user is contributing in a useful manner. Nor do I seek power; just more ways to help the goals of Wikipedia and help other users out. Anyways, thanks for your comments. --Wikihermit (Talk • HermesBot) 04:03, 10 June 2007 (UTC) [edit] My RfA :)

Thanks for uploading Image:MartinaMcBrideGreatestHits.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. [edit] katrina FPCHello phoenix2 - I've made an edit of Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/KatrinaNewOrleansFlooded.jpg that may address your technical concerns. Take a look if you get a moment. [edit] Chicago Landmark FLCI just wanted to let you know that I appreciate your support on the candidacy. I want you to know that I am in the midst of interlinking the articles via some navigational templates and I have started color coding the list according to the templates. I didn't want it to seem like I was sneaking these changes in after you voted so I am notifying you before the nomination closes. Any feedback would be appreciated. --TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 06:52, 29 June 2007 (UTC) [edit] East Carolina UniversityHello, In the past you have reviewed East Carolina Universityfor GA status. I am asking if you could give East Carolina University a peer-review. I want to add the article to the Good article candidates list. Thank you, PGPirate [edit] My RfAThank you for participating in my RfA. It was successful, and I am now, may God have mercy on us all, an administrator. Look at all the new buttons! I had heard about 'protect,' 'block user,' and 'delete,' but no one told me about 'kill,' 'eject,' and 'purée.' I see that you're involved in WikiSchools project, and I wanted to know if you could briefly review 2 recent tags on a school article and give your third-party opinion. In the Ironwood Ridge High School article's school history section, 2 tags have recently been applied. I question the validity of the tags, and would greatly appreciate your input. If you cannot help, please point me in the right direction of someone who possibly can. I definitely appreciate your help and opinion! Mxpc05 01:46, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Aquinas College, PerthHey, you may or may not remember - you upgraded this article to GA status here, and i was after your thoughts on the article as it currently stands. It has recently undergone alot of changes, particularly to improve the references and to address the MoS issues you raised. I am just after your thoughts on the article, if possible. Thanks alot. Black Falcon (Talk) 20:04, 27 August 2007 (UTC) [edit] FL Main page proposalYou either nominated a WP:FLC or closed such a nomination this year. As such, you are the type of editor whose opinion I am soliciting. We now have over 400 featured lists and seem to be promoting in excess of 30 per month of late (41 in August and 42 in September). When Today's featured article (TFA) started (2004-02-22), they only had about 200 featured articles and were barely promoting 20 new ones per month. I think the quality of featured lists is at least as good as the quality of featured articles was when they started appearing on the main page. Thus, I am ready to open debate on a proposal to institute a List of the Day on the main page with nominations starting November 1, 2007, voting starting December 1, 2007 and main page appearances starting January 1, 2008. For brevity, the proposal page does not discuss the details of eventual main page content, but since the work has already been done, you should consider this proposal assuming the eventual main page will resemble either an excerpted list format or an abbreviated text format. The proposal page does not debate whether starting with weekly list main page entries would be better than daily entries. However, I suspect persons in favor of weekly lists are really voicing opinions against lists on the main page since neither TFA nor Picture of the day started as weekly endeavors, to the best of my knowledge. Right now debate seems to be among support for the current selective democratic/consensus based proposal, a selective dictatorial approach like that used at WP:TFA or a non-selective first in line/calendar approach like that used at WP:POTD. See the List of the Day proposal and comment at WP:LOTDP and its talk page.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 18:48, 15 October 2007 (UTC) [edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Vandrosshits.jpg)

You have created several. So you are among the first. There have been a series of proposals to initiate a Featured List of the Day on the main page. Numerous proposals have been put forth. After the third one failed, I audited all WP:FL's in order to begin an experiment in my own user space that will hopefully get it going. Today, it commences at WP:LOTD. Afterwards I created my experimental page, a new proposal was set forth to do a featured list that is strikingly similar to my own which is to do a user page experimental featured list, but no format has been confirmed and mechanism set in place. I continue to be willing to do the experiment myself and with this posting it commences. Please submit any list that you would like to have considered for list of the day in the month of January 2008 by the end of this month to WP:LOTD and its subpages. You may submit multiple lists for consideration.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 17:05, 15 November 2007 (UTC) [edit] LOTD experimentMy userpage List of the Day experiment is getting under way at WP:LOTD.
