Talk:Patriot (comics)

Been cleaning up this article. I think it reads at least a little better now... And a new image would also help things look less... Skanky... -- Avengers fan 20:05, 7 September 2005 (UTC)

Wait a tic, I'm not terribly up to date on comics, but wasn't Cap's original triangular shield destroyed by Mister Hyde during the Mansion Siege by the Masters of Evil, way back in, oh, the late eighties, around Avengers #270-277 or so? How would Elijah have Cap's original, bulletproof shield? DoctorWorm7 05:34, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- It was. Cap later used a similar triangular shield after Heroes Return, it was a reproduction, it was destroyed by a Kree soldier. I believe he had yet another reproduction before switching to a photonic shield. It was revealed in issues of Black Panther that Cap had a triangular shield even earlier than the one destroyed by Hyde, and it was given as a gift to Panther's father. Patriot found a triangular shield in the Avengers Mansion, the assumption is that it was one of the bulletproof shields used by Cap prior to the photonic shield. That shield was later returned to Cap. The shield Patriot currently uses was given to him by Kate. She's rich though, so maybe it's made out of some tough material. -Kevingarcia 08:30, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

- On that note, I added "a replica of" in the bit about the shield and added a reference to the throwing stars he used in the first story arc (and still, apparently, carries). I called them "throwing stars" since they are obviously intended to look like stars from Old Glory and not Japanese in origin (thus, not Shuriken). Feel free to correct that though. -Kevingarcia 07:04, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

- Anyone else noticing weirdness with the superhero box? The relatives aren't showing up. --Basique 11:59, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
- By design. See Template talk:Superherobox. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 12:24, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Son Josiah X
I'm not familiar with the stories outright to insert the text, but I assume that Patriot is the son of Josiah X. If such is the case it would be helpful to include that more clearly in the text. 66.109.248.114
- He is not the son of Josiah X. He's the son of Josiah's sister, who was conceived by Isaiah and Faith Bradley before Isaiah underwent the supersoldier process. 207.173.201.37 05:20, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Patriotya.png
Image:Patriotya.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
