PAIS Alliance (Proud and Sovereign Fatherland) (Spanish: Alianza PAIS (Patria Altiva I Soberana); país also means country) is a left-wing political party in Ecuador led by the incumbent President of Ecuador Rafael Correa. It did not participate in the 2006 parliamentary election due to the opinion of many Ecuadorians that Congress is corrupt and obstructive, but did contest the 2007 Constituent Assembly election and drew approximately 70% of the votes.
