Neurology is the study of diseases in the nervous system. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.219.235.211 (talk)

[edit] Restrictive Definition

I wonder why the project page is so crowded and the talk page for the category is bare. I see three "subcategories" that fall under instrumentation or diagnostic tools for pathology. I haven't figured out how to demote them. In neurology, I can think of five sub-categories -- core areas of study for a neurologist: psychology, chemistry, physics, anatomy, and surjery (by order of preference). [edit] Parent categories

I've reverted the change in parent categories. Neurology is a branch of medicine, and these branches are categorized under Category:Medical specialties, to avoid overcrowding its parent Category:Medicine. Changing the other parent category to the (also overcrowded) Category:Biology also seems incorrect to me. If neurology is synonymous with neuroscience, as you've asserted here, then having two synonymous subcategories in Category:Biology would be quite confusing: one category name would reasonably need to be selected, and the other category deleted. Since I can find no evidence that the two words are synonymous, could you please cite some evidence before continuing with your attempted merge? Thanks, Clicketyclack 10:09, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
