What I can tell you about composing is that three ways are to do it. The first, and most traditional is to get together with a group of singers and work out several parts or simply teach them your tune. It'll change. It'll get bent in your own mind. You might end up with three or more parts in a natural manner. Once everyone thinks that they know your tune (and you know bloody well that they've learned something else), then get them to write it (this might take some repetition over some period), if they hav the power and inclination or you hav the drive and determination (money, perhaps, time and effort, either way). A second, and perhaps more typical way, is to pull parts out of such practise, if you hav the skill and determination to do it -- transposing different parts so that they occasionally meet in traditional low-numbered ratios like three to two or four to three without getting ugly somewhere else. It's a rare breed of musician who does the third way and does his own typesetting and musicology. It begins with or involves interpretting letters in standard, western octaves as numbers or chord progressions.

I write code for computers (C, Pascal, FORTRAN, BASIC -- mostly BASIC for my audio). I very rarely transmit executables (*.exe *.bat *.scr). I don't trust executables in e-mail, even from my friends, and I don't think you should, unless that particular friend wrote the executable, and you hav good reason to think that she knows exactly what she is sending and could rectify any problems that an executable might cause if a virus tagged along without her knowlej. I am much more likely to transmit source code.

"How may I direct your call?". One of my pet peeves is secretaries that answer the phone and immediately put you on hold at maybe twenty cents a minute. They should direct your call, because that's jenerally all that they do, anyway, and it doesn't take much longer. Maybe it's because he can't stand more than one phone ringing at a time. That's easily fixed if he only has one handset. "How may I direct your call?".
